Window to the womb for sex /gender scan?

Btw I know it’s finding out the sex but they call it gender scan so this is what I mean!

they offer it from 16 weeks

wondered if anyone had been here before and were they good? As I know they’re a chain

for DS we went to a local private sonographer who was right but sadly the practice isn’t open now!

i feel a bit paranoid as I feel like it’s a girl but I’ve heard so many stories where people go for early gender / sex scans and they get told it’s a girl then at the 20 week NHS scan a Willy suddenly appears that they were hiding earlier ! Lol

so any good reviews ?

We used the branch in Aylesbury and it was correct. I think it's quite unusual to get it wrong at 16 weeks. Sonagraphers at any reputable company should be fully qualified.

I used them for a scan at 16 weeks.

My experience was good- but I think you'll find that all of these companies are good if all is well with baby. It's just a room and a straight forward scan at the end of the day.

It's when all is not well that I've heard horrible stories of how things have gone at private scans: how it was handled, little support and delivery of bad news. That's not this company specifically, just and set up in this way.

I've been twice - they were right first time and second not born yet, but you do get copies of the pictures and there's no real doubting it so assuming they are right again.

Both times baby was in an awkward position and they allowed me to go out, walk, get a cold drink and come back for a second try which I really appreciated. But be prepared timewise if you have to do that, as you then have to wait for a gap between appointments, so you might not be in and out in 20 mins.

Any where could get it wrong. All places have trained sonographers, not common that it’s wrong, but occasionally development, or position can mean it’s wrong. I’d leave it until 20 weeks for more accuracy as the ones I know that have been wrong have been at 16 weeks

Who needs a scan when you can do a sneak peak blood test from just a few weeks

Went to the Reading branch with my pregnancies. Both were at exactly 16 weeks (I'm impatient!) so they had warned me that sometimes they can't tell for certain at that stage but if they weren't sure they'd get me to come back. They were positive both were girls and they were right.

Went to them in my last and current pregnancy (Salford branch), last pregnancy they were right and this pregnancy, the NHS scan, a 4d scan elsewhere and their scan all said the same so looking likely they’re right again but we’ll find out for certain in a couple of months!
