Please girls, I'm going insane and just need a chat.

I'm 7/8 weeks pregnant. Today I've started getting period like pains in in my lower tummy, like where normal period pains are. It stays for quite a while then disappears....

I had a miscarriage back in March, when I was VERY early pregnant. I remember having period like pains before I started bleeding, but slightly more painful then this time.

Spoke to midwife, she's put me on the call list thing for someone to call me Monday.

My question is, has anyone had mild non painful, but annoying period cramps around 7/8 weeks pregnant?

I did and mine were quite painful at times. Had period-type cramps quite a lot during the first few months of pregnancy. Apparently it can be caused by your womb starting to stretch out. Try not to worry, I hope all goes well for you.

Yes I had the same thing problem until I was 10/12 weeks and I was convinced something wasn’t right so we booked an early scan at 9 weeks. I always found mine eased if I stood up and walked around though. I’m now 17 weeks and baby is abs fine

I had quite bad cramps with my first baby (worse than early labour) and a bit of light spotting. They weren’t constant (I’d have them for about 15-30 minutes a few times per day) and stopped in the second trimester.
He’s now a very healthy toddler! It might just be your uterus stretching so try not to worry.

I’m 7/8 weeks pregnant too and have some mild cramps and light bleeding for the past 2 days. I’m worried sick and called the EPU yesterday but no-one called me back. I’ve booked to go for a private scan today to get checked out. I cant go all weekend worrying and googling everything until I can speak to a doctor on Monday. 😢

I’m 16+1 and still have period pains - think about all that’s happening in your body, it’s normal that you feel some sensation happening. I spoke to a consultant, 2 midwives, a sonographer and a private clinician who all said it was ABSoljtely normal

Hey I’m 7+4 and have had these this week only briefly, I find if I lay on my side in foetal position with knees up it eases it and then just goes. I’m sure it’s just things expanding! Good luck with your scan x

@hannah345 Can I ask how you got on with the midwife? Is everything well with your pregnancy?

hannah345 · 24/08/2023 16:21

@gskay83 hey lovely. Everything was fine, I'm currently 21 weeks pregnant. I have Low PAPP-A tho which was detected when I had the combined down syndrome check. But so far so good x

@hannah345 Ahh amazing!! That's fantastic news 💛 They should give you extra scans for the low PAPP-A so you'll get to see little one more often. Glad everything's well xx

hannah345 · 24/08/2023 18:42

@gsgskay83 is everything okay with you? X

@hannah345 I'm hoping so. My last 2 pregnancies ended in MC (one at 15 weeks and one only at 6). I had a scan at 6 weeks and there was a little heartbeat. I'm just having cramps, like period cramps and a little bit of brown spotting so naturally fearing the worst. I have another scan booked in next Thursday so fingers crossed all is well xx 🌈 I'm currently 7+6 x

@ggskay83 oh hun! It's such a massive mixture of emotions at the start, isn't it. I know I was all over the place questioning every twinge, every cramp etc.
Hope it all goes well hunny please let me know x
