Do some women just have higher HCG levels?

Hi All,

Sorry for the multiple pregnancy posts the past few days have been quite scary.

I had a scan today at 9 weeks 6 days to rule out a molar pregnancy and was told it's not a molar pregnancy. I was told my HCG levels were 173000+ a few days ago.

Do some women just have higher HCG levels?

I believe some women do just have higher levels of hcg. Abit like any hormone really there is a range for normal, as long as you fall within that range, whether it be lower or higher in the range doesn't really matter. Higher hcg can of course indicate multiple pregnancy. I heard a myth that you can have higher hcg with girls but I'm not sure I believe that. I think it can also indicate down syndrome but high HCG alone is not enough of an indicator and many women with higher hcg have completely healthy babies 😊. Try to calm down a little, the stress will do more harm than good x
