I’m only 27 weeks pregnant with DC2. Have been experiencing light but regular contractions (every 5 mins) for the past 4 hours. No escalation in intensity, but they’re not stopping either. I didn’t experience anything like this for my first pregnancy. Should I just ignore and carry on?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Make an appointment.

Hope all goes well OP.

I'd call your maternity assessment unit and try get them to see you

Mutabiliss · 19/05/2023 12:20

Call your maternity unit (number should be on your notes). They'll ask you questions and decide whether you need to go in for monitoring.

I presume by doctor you don't mean GP.

You need to call maternity triage

Houseupdate · 19/05/2023 14:50

I agree. Call maternity assessment.

Thanks for your help. I’m in a European country, so it’s obstetrician led here. I went to the local midwife clinic here but they suggested I go to the hospital, which seems a dramatic escalation.
Essentially it’s an abdominal tightening, not painful, but noticeable
