Pregnancy Vs Menstrual cramps

Hi
I am currently 4 weeks pregnant and this weekend should have been my period dates. I suffer horribly with my periods and I am prescribed Naproxen along with codine. In 2022 I had endometriosis removal surgery to try and ease my cycle but I actually found it didn't do much to help.

Currently I can manage with the pain during the day but the last two nights between 3-4am I have woken with horrific pains on both sides of my ovaries (this usually happens when I have my period) I wondered if anyone else has the same problem?

If it is linked to the fact my period is due around this time what's the likely hood it will stop over time? Again would love to hear if anyone else suffers the same symptoms xx

I’m 17 weeks pregnant now but my cramps only eased off a week or so ago. Thankfully not constant and they don’t sound as painful as yours, but much worse than I was expecting. Unfortunately there’s not much you can do, and it’s just part of being pregnant for lots of women. I don’t have endometriosis but do have fibroids which might be fighting for space in the womb.
Try a (not too hot) hot water bottle, warm shower, all the usual stuff when you have a period, except painkillers. I did find sitting down for long periods at work made it worse. I drank loads of water so that the frequent loo breaks would get me up out of my chair.

In the last 48 hours they've started to ease so I'm wondering if it was due to my period being due this week/weekend. The hot baths and bottle have helped me also. Do you still have pregnancy symptoms each day or do they come and go?
Congratulations wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy x

Congratulations to you too 😊
I had terrible nausea from weeks 6-12ish. I still feel sick a couple of times throughout the day, but it’s really eased off so that I can eat food with flavour now. Had have pounding headaches recently too, but I can feel my eyesight has changed (some women’s corneas change shape in pregnancy) so that may be a contribution?
The cramps have definitely eased. Some stretching pain, particularly if I’ve walked a lot, but nothing unmanageable.
Every women is different though. Some women have no symptoms at all and don’t realise they’re pregnant for months, so there’s a real spectrum.
Implantation pains can be the worst part for some I think, so fingers crossed yours ease off.

Glad to hear you're feeling better. I did read that about the eyes how crazy! I've just got cramp pains, sore boobs but I've had no implantation bleeding which has worried me a little. Fingers crossed all of this is a good sign x
