Hello,

I am 12 weeks today and have had bleeding which is getting heavier since wed and last night i passed some small clots.

Has anyone experienced this or is it what I think and the start of a miscarriage?

I have a scan today, but any advice to help me prepare would be welcome.

Sorry to hear this it must be very worrying for you.

I have seen posts on here from women who have had bleeding and clots and gone on to have healthy babies.

Have you had any scans already?

Overthebow · 19/05/2023 07:11

Have you had an early scan and seen a heartbeat?
sorry your going through this it’s a scary time.

Whataretheodds · 19/05/2023 07:12

I know it's hard but try to distract yourself. Get some tasks done or call a friend or go for a walk.
You worrying can't change the outcome.
Is anyone going with you?

Worriedmum9999 · 19/05/2023 07:15

I had a scan at 7 weeks showing a heartbeat.

Had spotting evrry week since, but it is now heavy and requiring a pad. I am trying to stay positive, but also trying to prepare myself as well in case of bad news.

As im 12 weeks, im wondering if you need to be in hopsital to go through the miscarriage or if you just manage at home

I have had this through all my pregnancies. Some I lost, two are now in their twenties. I have no advice for you but understand what you are going through 💐💐 good luck with your scan.

Hi OP. I heard of many ladies bleeding in pregnancy due to hematoma and luckily the pregnancy progressed well. I asked recently something similar and it appears it really happens.

Be prepared for any outcome, but I wouldn't lose hope just yet. Thinking of you!

TMI2000 · 19/05/2023 18:01

I have been thinking of you today OP after reading this post this morning. I hope all went well for you x

I bled heavily for 18 weeks with my youngest who is now six. It can end in a healthy pregnancy. Good luck @Worriedmum9999

So sorry OP. Take care.

Covidwoes · 19/05/2023 20:47

So sorry to hear this @Worriedmum9999. I went through this nearly six years ago at 13 weeks. I had no bleeding, but found out at the 12 week scan. I had surgical management. Let me know if you have any questions. So sorry for your loss.

I went through this.

I'm so deeply sorry.

Please be kind to yourself. Give yourself permission to grieve, be sad, angry, frightened, what ever you feel it's ok to feel that way.

Worriedmum9999 · 19/05/2023 21:12

Thank you for your kind words. I gound out today at my 12 week scan @Covidwoes but i started bleeding last night and it has now progressed in to very painful cramps.

Thank you all for your messages and support. I am hoping the pain/miscarriage wont last to long so i can begin to emotionally heal x

Oh bless you 💐💐

Whataretheodds · 20/05/2023 00:25

So sorry to hear that. If you find yourself in pain before the surgical you can take paracetamol or aspirin and ibuprofen (assuming you're not prevented from taking them normally) - you can dovetail them eg dose of paracetamol, 2 hours later dose of ibuprofen, 2 hours later dose of paracetamol, etc.

Good luck. It is sad but the emotional pain will ease.
