Positive then negative test results

I’m 3 days late for my period and took a pregnancy test the day I was expecting to come on (15th May), that was negative. I took a test as soon as I got up this morning and there was a very faint positive line, so about 1 hour and a litre of water later I took a digital one and it said I was not pregnant. I’m unsure if I should take another or whether the digital negative is more accurate? Has anyone had the same and not been pregnant?

I think you’ll need to do another one tomorrow with first morning wee.

The one after a litre of water would have been very weak wee so probably not enough for the test to detect this early on. It doesn’t necessarily mean you’re not pregnant.

Hope you get the outcome you want.

Also some tests are more sensitive than others so will pick up smaller levels of hormones - the test packet will tell you the sensitivity.

Hi, thank you I will try again tomorrow. I’ve previously had a miscarriage so a bit terrified of getting pregnant and it happening again, part of me wants it to be positive and I think I’m hoping it will be tomorrow. But we will see

Your urine would have been too diluted so it will show as negative. You need at least a 3 hour urine hold and definitely not drinking a lot. That’s why first morning urine is the best to use as it’s more concentrated.
