Seriously! I know that normally I eat sweeties and salty snacks because I'm a pig, but right now it's the only way that I can keep my head out of the toilet bowl and I don't have the energy to be going to the shops all the time. He's normally lovely but he keeps "just having a couple" of my last box of Pringles or packet of fizzy fish. Argh!!!!!

Hello Mrs Tittlemouse! Yup, my DH is doing this and it drives me MAD. I gave him a real bollocking for not just eating but finishing MY Rich Tea biscuits and Haribo, and sent him shopping for more. Then he had the gall to complain that there were 'too many treats' in the house because he can't keep his grubby mitts off them, the piglet. I have taken to hiding stashes of things I 'need' in my office drawers and handbag pockets...

I once caught my DP eating my french fancies (the cake variety) at 3 o clock in the morning (as he says it was the only time he thought he could get away with it!)

Did he think that you would not notice when you felt sick the next morning and all your cakes were gone?!?!?! I suppose at least DH is blatent and open about it......
Wish I had somewhere secret to stash my stuff, but I'm a SAHM, so it's all here within reach. Glad I'm not the only one though.

Oh Yes and it makes me so mad. I have awful sickness and can literally eat about 5 foods without being sick. And he eats them and finishes them off! I think its unbelievably selfish.

When I complain he whinges about how hard it is for him to see them and not be able to eat them - well its a bundle of laughs being sick several times a day and barely being able to eat. Go buy your own or at least tell me you have eaten them so i can get more - or replace them yourself!

When i asked why he ate them in secret rather than asking or telling me so i knew to get more his response was "if i asked you might say no"

Last time when i was explaining my sickness (was just as bad) to the midwife at the booking appointment and she was sympathising he chimed in with "its really hard for me to" - she just stared at him open mouthed! Reminds me of Ross in friends when Rachel is giving birth and elbows him accidentally and he says "you have no idea how much that just hurt"

What i would give to make a man go through pregnancy, birth and those early months.

GRRRR!!! Sorry very sore point!

I had to laugh MrsTittleMouse. Just been to supermarket and bought marshmellows, jelly sweets and anything else to keep my Dentist in business. The only thing is I did loose a load of weight before in my last pregnancy as I could not eat, so I have decided to each as much as possible this time before the sickness settles in and I can't face looking at them.

(........just goes to raid sweet cupboard, can't cope.........)

The trouble is, is that I have two older daughters who can now reach the top shelf of my store cupboard and have realised that the contents of the super sour worms are half empty.

belgo · 19/02/2008 12:21

stealing pringles from a pregnant woman should be a crime!

georgiegirl15 · 19/02/2008 12:21

Hi, have been sick right the way through and if dh eats another one of my "sicky" sweets I'll go mad. He's emptied 3 bagfuls from the car alone! GRRRRRR!!!!

Twinklewishes · 19/02/2008 12:36

When I was pregnant with my youngest DH all I ate for four months were plain crisps and Christmas cake. (Hard to get hold in in the summer).

DH very good though. He buys me ready meals just to make sure I have at least one good meal a day. While he has a lunch at work. When he gets home he makes me what I can actually manage to eat. He always worries.

MrsTittleMouse · 19/02/2008 12:36

I tried to be nice and bought him a stack of peanuts that I can't eat (allergies in the family), but apparently that wasn't good enough, he wants mine too.
Have now run out of M and S "nothing artificial" sweets. So nothing sweet in the house. Cracked me up that he was nice enough to go and get them, but made sure that he got the varities that he likes!

Vomit in his shoes. Only way.

If that doesn't work, vomit on his face while he's sleeping.

ThePFJ · 24/02/2008 13:05

-falls over laughing-

I am with Excitable on this.
Completely.

at your selfish DH's ladies!
That is NOT on.
Isnt there ANYWHERE you can hide them?
False bottom in the breadbin?
Pringles in your boots?
Or just carry them on your person and DARE him to steal them

charlotte121 · 24/02/2008 23:56

maybe you could get one of those mooing cookie jars that make a noicse when u open them and catch them red handed... or rig up a trap... tee he he you could get a bit devious with this..... or you could hide their beer!

MrsTittleMouse · 25/02/2008 08:13

So tempting.....
Hiding wouldn't work as I'm going to bed a couple of hours earlier than him, so he has plenty of uninterrupted time to search. Luckily my latest "thing" is rice krispie squares (yuk, right?) which he has no interest in at all. So my stash is safe!

addictedtoharibo · 25/02/2008 12:50

ohhhh rice krispie squares...must find rice krispie squares!

And yes - the early bed thing - what i do is go to bed and laze around for a bit then creep downstairs ever so quietly and its guaranteed to find them eating your snacks.

Then you can look oh so disapointed and shake your head pityingly.

Wont stop them doing it again though!

missvicki · 25/02/2008 13:29

I caught my Dh out a treat the other week. I keep sweets in my car when i'm working to keep hunger and sickness at bay! Well this particular week i had a bag of Sports mixture from manyards, only thing was all the green ones tasted odd to me so i had picked them all out but left them in the packet on the seat. Later that day DH borrowed my car for something and obviusly thought "yum sweets" and the piggy he is got the whole lot and put them in his mouth. His face was a picture coz these sweets were really bad tasting obviously a doddy batch!!! Told him that will teach him for nicking my sweets!!!!!!

Excitable · 25/02/2008 13:32

You could hide their beer at someone else's house - that would be quite funny.

Or you could leave a big sign saying "I know what you're up to!" on the snacks in the cupboard.

I still think you should vomit on his face, though, just for fun.
