Went in for an early scan at 6 weeks even tho fetus was still to small to see a heartbeat I was told I had a Bicornuate Uterus , even though my doctor had no concerns and said my pregnancy is progressing normally , I did the doctor google search and worried myself just wanted to know if anyone else has this and has been fine ?

They thought I had this too but it was a cyst making it appear bicornuate. I did research it back then (nearly 20 years ago now!) and I recall many pregnancies are fine.
Did they say how defined the sides are as it can be from heart shaped to almost 2 different chambers

I have this issue. Went through IVF so knew everything about my insides before I was pregnant and the first technician who looked instantly said I would need a c-section.

no problems being pregnant though my bump was a little lopsided! All the HCPs said not to worry about what I was told and I would be fine to deliver naturally. I had three days of labour followed by a very fast emergency section. I wish I had pressed more for those original thoughts to have been reviewed, because my experience was more exhausting and dangerous than it needed to be. Baby was absolutely fine but I was in special care for a few days and readmitted a week later when I wasn’t getting better. BUT I was fine after two weeks. I just needed more recovery than average.

my advice would be to discuss an elective section and discuss it early and often. If I had a rewind button, that’s what I would have done! Ask if the scan pictures you’ve just had can be transferred to the midwife team etc.

wishing you a very happy and healthy pregnancy!

They just said it was heart shaped I was told as baby grows it will just stretch out to make room they didn't say too much that was concerning and didn't say they was worried about it nor was I told about any risks or anything so I hoping that means there isn't any serious concerns.
I'm just a naturally anxious person 😅 and just want to make sure everything's fine already feel like wrapping myself in bubble wrap aha x

Hi shanzx how are you and your pregnancy doing? When are you due? I’m also a very anxious lady with a bicornuate uterus who is currently 17 weeks! X

I had twins in one half of my bicornuate uterus (heart shaped with thick dividing septum apparently), born at almost 28 weeks. Singleton born at almost 37 weeks. Very uncomfortable bumps both times but all now healthy young people. They did tell me if I’d had a later scan (scan at 6weeks with first pregnancy) they never would have known as the septum just gives way as baby grows. Good luck and don’t panic
