Low HCG levels

I tested positive for pregnancy 12 days ago with a very faint line. I monitored this and have now had HCG blood tests results were 32ml and 72hrs later 48ml.
I’ve seen conflicting messages that the levels should double or raise by 50% and others saying 35% is viable.
my cycle was irregular so I’m around 3/4weeks post conception 5/6 weeks by NHS.
I’ve been referred to early pregnancy unit but just looking for advice from anyone that’s experienced this, good or bad. Thanks

Hi. From my experience, when hcg didn't raise properly at this early stage, outcome was not good... Fingers crossed OP, hope you get good news.

@BabyBruce01 sorry to echo baby hope :-( but she's right xx everyone levels are very different which is why the bandings are so wide.

I had my hcg tested last Thursday after a third round of ivf (My OTD was Monday) and then again Saturday and this morning and my levels are doubling regularly

@BabyBruce01 could you go for another blood test? What did the blood test people say about your numbers so far?

BabyBruce01 · 16/05/2023 23:04

Thank you, yes this is what I suspected. Doctor hasn’t rung yet re results, trying to get a call back tomorrow and I’ve referred myself to the hospital. They did say they would want to see them increasing. I’m going to try to get another test tomorrow too to see what the levels are at now

@BabyBruce01 I'm sorry to have been negative. I could be wrong. Keep us posted xx

Greensheeps · 16/05/2023 23:36

Hi @BabyBruce01 ive had different outcomes…first time I had low HCG levels which failed to increase (can’t remember the numbers exactly im sorry) , second time my HCG failed to double so I assumed the worst…I think increased by 64% ? My dr also said it was of concern….however the result of that pregnancy is currently snoozing away in bed.
it’s not an easy time to go through but just remember there’s nothing you can do to change the outcome. Wishing you the best

BabyBruce01 · 17/05/2023 06:12

Don’t be silly, I posted for honesty and I know it might not be the outcome I’m hoping for x

@BabyBruce01 what was the outcome of this please? Hope all was okay xx

BabyBruce01 · 06/07/2023 22:50

unfortunately it wasn’t successful, doctor did say a lot of the time the HCG can rise but mine started to reduce and I eventually bleed etc.

I just wanted to let you know for anyone that followed the thread. Despite the issues I got pregnant again 3 months later without having a period.
We’ve just had a lovely baby girl with no complications. So if you have the same situation hopefully it’ll be a one off like ours :-)
