My pregnancy’s through IVF. How’s your experience been?

Welcome! What stage are you at? It’s very early days for me. It’s been very up and down and strange since it’s my second child and first ivf.

I’m 16 weeks. Had lots of early pregnancy symptoms (constant nausea weeks 6-12, cramps, exhaustion etc), and wasn’t sure how much these were made worse by the IVF hormones. Feel quite a bit better now though. Still keep wondering if it’s real though. After struggling with infertility for ages it’s difficult to get my head around it all now.
Is this pregnancy much different from your last?

I’m glad you’re over the first trimester now! Are you going to find out the sex?

It’s really hard to say as I’m in such a different place. I’m so busy with my current child and mum me is a totally different person to how I was before. I was very lucky before and just fell pregnant. I really did absolutely nothing different for the 18 months or so I tried before ivf. But yeah I guess just surreal and worried it’s not happening. No symptoms yet and I remember last time I was so tired and so hungry I kept waking up for midnight feasts!

I also didn’t find out the sex which I loved as it was a great surprise, but also made it feel less real in a way. So I think this time I’ll find out.

I think I’ll keep the sex of the baby a surprise.
Yeah they couldn’t really find a reason for natural conception not working with us, but it really wasn’t. Then pregnant with IVF straight away!
I don’t know how I would’ve coped looking after a child with the symptoms I had, but I guess you just.. do, if and when you have them.

I’m on my second round of ivf and just got my bfp last week. Blood result was 104. I’m now at around 5 weeks and I’m so nervous and scared. My first round of ivf resulted in pregnancy with a blood result of 207, viability scan all looked perfect but I miscarried around 7-8 weeks (although I didn’t know I’d lost it until 11 weeks). I didn’t have many symptoms (no morning sickness etc) and this time I’m trying to cling to anything that’s telling me it’s all going ok 😩

Those early weeks are so tense, especially after what you went through before. I hope it’s all ok
