Called up about my NIPT test today. They said that the first sample of blood was no good and they are trying the second sample. Lady on the phone didn't know the technical reasons for this.
Are we thinking it's likely that I will end up having a re-draw and having to wait the whole 10 working days again? I can't see what could be different about the second batch of blood which was taken straight after the first? Anyone else had this?
I'm worried as I had the test Friday afternoon and then there was a bank holiday straight after that maybe the blood had been hanging around for too long before they started on it. They only do a Friday for this test in my area so I can't see that being better next time.
She did say that it's not a sign that there is anything actually wrong but I didn't find that very comforting.
