Elective section earlier than 39 weeks due to pgp?

I've been lucky to have not had any issues with my second pregnancy other than pretty bad pgp, to the point I'm really now struggling to walk/move about in day to day life.

Has anyone ever had a planned section that was booked earlier than 39 weeks? I'm 35+1 now and see my consultant next week but I really can't imagine how I'm going to cope these next few weeks as it just seems to be getting worse.

I had one at 38+1 last year for different reasons, and my consultant was happy to book me in for 37w if needed.

I think if it’s more of a risk not to then they will. My friend asked for the end of the 38th week for no medical reason, just childcare and she got it booked. My other friend went early and lost a lot of blood last time so they really don’t want her going into labour naturally this time and they’re looking at taking her at 37/38 weeks

First baby elective section at 39 weeks baby weighed 7lbs 4oz
Two years later, second baby elective section at 37 weeks baby weighed 7lbs 1oz
No complications with either, fast recovery.

Oh ok these are good to know!!

My first was an elective due to anxiety over labour at 39+3 but everything feels so different this time and my body just feels like it's reached capacity for being pregnant!

I've not even met my consultant yet even though I've been under them since pregnancy started (maternity care where I live is in a very bad state at the moment) so I'm hoping for a productive conversation when I finally meet her!

I tried so hard to convince them for the same reason and I was refused.

They won't C-section earlier than 39 weeks for PGP. My consultant was very adamant that they wouldn't C-section for my low lying placenta before 39 weeks unless we were in immediate danger of haemorrhage. He said that the difference in their lungs between 37-40 weeks is huge. Hope you get some relief soon x
