Sweeps

Hi all!

I’m due to start having sweeps this week but I’m also mindful they are unless my body is ready they won’t have much affect. With my daughter, they didn’t work and still ended up being induced but I didn’t have any pains, cramps, back pain etc etc.

This time round, Iv had period type pains for about a week, lower back pain, baby is really low & has been fully engaged for a few weeks now.

Did anyone have similar pains/symptoms and had a successful sweep?

You don't say if you want to have any sweeps? You don't have to have them at all.

They increase risk of infection and have very little evidence of actually working.

Sounds like you're moving in the right direction anyway. How many weeks are you?

If you are curious you could ask for an examination without the sweep to see what's going on, and then decide if you want a sweep.
