Hey, I’m 10 weeks pregnant tomorrow and I am experiencing really bad constipation. Today I have completely lost my appetite and do not feel like I want to eat anything at all. My stomach is rock hard and so big, definitely to do with build up not showing pregnancy:( is this normal? Will it affect my baby in any way? :(

Ah I had this terribly, think it was from the pregnancy vitamins as they had iron in them! Very normal but you could speak to your midwife if you want something to help you go. I found walking a lot more and drinking tons of water eventually helped but that didn't work well with the nausea!

I had this too - it was awful. Trying changing your brand of vitamins. I found Santagoen gave me constipation. When I moved to Superdrug own brand problem went away.

Try lactulose and a glycerin suppository. You'll prob have an uncomfortable hour or so on the toilet but that should sort it. If not, midwife or GP can prescribe something stronger. Try to keep on top of it moving forward and definitely after birth- I went 3 weeks without going and it was hideous

I took a daily glass of fibogel to try and keep things regular and used lactulose when I really needed some extra help.

Got on fine with both

Yeah Fibogel helped me too as well as making sure I was eating some high fibre veg and avoiding eggs and red meat

I was the same as you because I was taking iron supplements. Someone on here recommended chia seeds and they're honestly a game changer! Take a teaspoon in your porridge/glass of orange juice in the morning. I've also found that raising your legs to an elevated position while you're on the loo helps - maybe if you had a low stool to put your feet on? Hope you get some relief!
