8 weeks and symptoms gone - any positive stories?

Hello,

I’m wondering if anyone has any similar stories and things worked out?

I’m currently 8+3 and my symptoms have suddenly disappeared. My boobs have been very full and tender, and now nothing except slight nipple soreness if I poke them. I’ve had bad nausea which has varied, sometimes just in the morning and sometimes all day, with being sick most mornings. This has now also gone.

I had a scan at 7+5 under EPU due to previous miscarriages. This showed the correct size and strong heartbeat. The following day I had awful nausea until the evening but now for the past 2 days and this morning everything has gone. I know really the only way to know is wait until my next scan with EPU but I just wondered if anyone had experienced similar with a positive outcome?

Hi OP, I can’t fully relate as I’m only 5+5 but I actually did a bit of research this morning and saw loads of ladies saying the same thing. My boobs weren’t quite as sore as usual so I worked myself up but I 100% think that symptoms coming and going is normal. Best wishes for your pregnancy x

Hi lovely!

I wrote exactly the same post at around 7+4, I lost all my symptoms. (Albeit I was still absolutely shattered! But we had had IVF so I wasn’t sure what was normal or not!) my boobs were no longer hard or sore - I probably felt them every second of every day 😂

We then got to see little babe at 7+6 and all was healthy and fine.

Throughout the first trimester all my symptoms came and went one day to the next! I really wanted to feel bloody awful, but I just didn’t. I was very very lucky. Around 8.5/9 weeks I did suffer with slight evening nausea, but it would fade pretty quickly and again - I worried something was up!!!

I’m now 21 weeks and our little boy is doing just perfectly 😊 makes sense now my symptoms were very easy going - BOYS😂 lol!

If you’re worried and with your previous history, contact the EPU xx

The placenta is starting to take over at this stage of your pregnancy so your hormone levels will change. 8-9 weeks is a time when you may start to feel fewer symptoms. It happened with both of my pregnancies and the second was quite a noticeable shift within 2 days.

KinderCat · 14/05/2023 09:21

Hey lovely, was in exactly the same boat as you but just had my 13 week scan and still okay and in week 11 nausea came back with a vengeance (bringing its best friend vomiting too for good measure).

I am a massive worrier but so far on both scans (had an early one at the hosp as high risk and fertility issues) and the NT all been okay so please try not to stress (hard as that is!)

I can't remember exact dates etc but I know that multiple times in early pregnancy I was googling about a loss of symptoms and driving myself mad. I think symptoms can come and go. Everything was fine and I have a nearly 10 month old now.

Louoby · 14/05/2023 09:56

With my first baby, all symptoms completely disappeared by 9 weeks - wouldn't of known I was pregnant and certainly didn't feel it. He's now nearly 8 years old. Best of luck x

ai38 · 14/05/2023 10:05

I am 8+5 today and I haven't had much symptoms except in week 4, 5 where I had period-like cramps, sore boobs and some nausea. During the past week, I only had a mild nausea one or two hours yesterday. I almost no other symptoms. But during this symptom-free period I also had an early private scan few days. and the baby was perfect with strong heartbeat. So, I don't think there is anything for your worry. This is my first pregnancy but from what I read online, it seems that symptoms come and go and each body is different. Don't worry too much :)

PlantDoctor · 14/05/2023 10:10

Absolutely, I had this. Line started disappearing too. Turns out the line can disappear if there is too much hormone too. Resulting offspring is now 3!

Lillybobs86 · 14/05/2023 10:34

I had this around week 8... suddenly woke up feeling very different and I was worried.
A few days later sickness came back sooo bad and I was full of symptoms again.
I'm 11 weeks now and symptoms still fluctuate but all is fine x

lucya66 · 14/05/2023 14:43

I feel like my boobs are more sore in the evenings than the mornings. If that helps, maybe they will be sore tonight?

I think waves of symptoms are normal.

Magicbean5 · 14/05/2023 15:18

Hi OP, I wrote a very simular post in 2020 and my ds is now a near 2yearold! 8 weeks I lost symptoms symptoms about 3 days and they sis come back with a vengeance. Of course everyone us different but thought I'd give you something positive, good luck x

Magicbean5 · 14/05/2023 15:19

I don't know why my grammar in that post was ridiculous lol

Ljhunt · 14/05/2023 15:23

@J1005 my boobs grew (which was so great as they’re so small!) and were so sore and then at 8 or 9 weeks overnight suddenly shrank back to pre pregnancy size and stopped hurting and haven’t grown or hurt since 😂 (now 23 weeks). I also lost most of my symptoms except for exhaustion. From looking at posts at the time it seems very normal so don’t worry!

KnackeredBack · 14/05/2023 15:29

My symptoms disappeared at 9 weeks. DD1 is 20 now.

Justanothercyster · 14/05/2023 21:30

I could have literally written this post this morning, I was so anxious! I've been so sick I've been on anti sickness meds, but the last few days nothing at all! Was starting to really worry as I didn't even need to take my sickness meds, but BAM. Have felt awful since lunchtime. I think the hormones fluctuate by the sounds of things. I'm 8+4 today x

J1005 · 15/05/2023 07:13

Thank you everyone! This is all very reassuring and hopefully I can remain positive until my scan next week. I’ve had some slight nausea again but nowhere near the level it was before so will try to patiently wait until next week!

Just an update for anyone who might look at this thread in the future - scan this morning went well with baby measuring 9+5 and a strong heartbeat! My symptoms have come back a little but still nowhere near the level they were before so goes to show that symptoms aren’t always the best indicator of how things are going 😊

Congratulations @J1005
I'm glad everything is on track. Have a happy and healthy pregnancy x

Hazelnuttella · 23/05/2023 15:12

Thanks for updating OP and glad everything is going well for you!

I’m only 5 weeks and feeling absolutely no symptoms… much as I hated the constant nausea with my first baby it was quite reassuring 🤦🏻‍♀️

Rainbow890 · 29/04/2024 04:17

I know this post is older but I always promised myself I would do this and not forget just because my baby arrived.

I frantically searched symptomless pregnancies and read every single mumsnet thread about it...anything to give me hope. I hope this helps anyone doing the same, but I was completely symptom-less for the first 12 weeks. It was really scary and as someone who went on to develop bad PGP, "persistent vomiting" and then hyperemesis late in pregnancy, I can 100% say the lack of symptoms was harder to cope with. Its a draining time. Any very mild symptom (?) I did have would come and go and it was just horrible.

Symptoms or lack of do not indicate strength of pregnancy. I'm currently feeding my 4 week old on the nightshift. I desperately looked for stories ending in "my baby is in my arms right now" so hope this helps anyone. Good luck all xx

carsty · 09/10/2024 13:36

@Rainbow890 bless you for sharing your story and how your now holding your precious lil one and thanks everyone dor sharing their stories too. For me, I am 34 and had my first ever bfp 2 weeks ago with some shock as I was undergoing fertility investigations but Gods timing is best eh. I didnt really have much symptoms to start with just horrible stomach pains whic i thought was soley due to my ibs but i lit had severe constipatiin and felt like i was syeing on a few occasions. Very bloated and slighlty sensitive nipples. I am about 6/7weeks now and the past couple days ive had no symtpoms eeally and trying not to worry. I barely have any discharge where as before i did have sone increased discharge. i have a private scan in 2 weeks time and hoping for the best as my first scan only showed a gestational sac but they assumed it was a bit too soon to see anyhting else yet.
