Early Pregnancy - Scared & Hoping for Support

I only got the positive tests last week, estimate I'm probably at week 4-5 and today I've had the tiniest amount of spotting alongside some minor cramps and slightly painful twinges.

I lost my last baby at 42 weeks (SB) four years ago and this minor spotting and dull bouts of cramping has me absolutely panicked which is probably silly.

Really just wondering if anybody else had odd cramps and spotting so early and it turned out okay.

My partner isn't too happy (shocked and scared I think) about this pregnancy and is being a bit distant so I can't even talk to him about it 😢

So sorry to hear you lost your baby.
I had a miscarriage in March at 7 weeks but the bleeding was so much like a heavy period and had quite a bit of lower back pain but no cramping or any pain my belly at all.
I've just found out I'm pregnant again and I'm about 4/5 weeks too.
I hope everything will be okay for us both 🤞🏻

Hi OP, I'm so sorry for the loss you had 4 years ago.
How are the cramps/spotting now? I would suggest speaking to your GP as soon as possible about the pregnancy and ask to be referred to the early pregnancy unit so they can monitor things in these early weeks.
I hope things go well for you x

Good morning OP. I am so sorry for your loss - I had a stillbirth at 37 weeks 2 years ago and have since had 2 miscarriages and am 7+3 currently. Try and stay calm and contact your EPU directly but also moving forward, have you a consultant whose care you will be under or a bereavement midwife you are still in touch with? Try and lean on all the professionals possible as they will help to reassure you. With my miscarriages they started with period cramps that were consistent as well as spotting that didn't stop / start but was constant and gradually got heavier. I also kinda knew in my head... like a sixth sense? I hope it's not the case for you but better to get checked 🙃 I am trying to find the joy in this pregnancy but from speaking to other mummies who have lost babies they have found subsequent pregnancies mentally challenging... I find the worst girl gang ever insta page good xx

@WillowGema2021 I'm so sorry to read of your MC in March 😔, keeping everything crossed that everything goes smoothly as possible for you and bean this time. I am having back pains as well but I've got sciatica anyway so I'm holding out on the back pains being that 😅

@CC222 Thank you, I'll be going to my GP Monday and asking for a Intra-V scan if possible asap. The spotting is still light but gone from a few tiny drops to about a teaspoon of redder blood mixed with the other discharge (I feel weird like that's TMI lol) and cramps aren't terrible but there's a pressure on my left side fairly constantly.

@Clarita191 I'm so sorry to read you have experienced a baby loss to stillbirth. It's something none of us should have to go through 😔 I will keep all my hopes that you and bean carry on strong! I think I will have to contact the grief counsellor. I didn't really reach out to them much 4 years ago but if my current pregnancy continues (and I really hope it does) it's becoming clear I'm going to be struggling quite a lot every time something unexpected happens.

I think from what I've been told, the joy is there it's just hiding atm and it'll get it's chance to shine when baby comes through xx
