Pregnant and foot pain is this normal?

Hi all

This is my second pregnancy and i don't feel like i'm coping very well. I feel like my body is struggling and ready to give up on me. The main issue that i am dealing with is constant foot pain. The only way i can describe it is like a constant cramp that never goes away and pain when i put pressure on it. I have found myself limping and not being able to bare weight on it for the past week. It doesn't seem to be getting any better!

I only work 2 days a week, mainly on my feet in a retail job and i just feel like even this is too much for me. I physically just can't walk on it without pain!

I'm 27 weeks pregnant, i remember the swollen feet in summer when i was pregnant with my first but nothing to this extent. I haven't had an appointment with the midwife since 16 weeks but i'm due to go next week. Is it even worth bringing up, will they just shrug it off as typical swollen feet in pregnancy?

Could it have something to do with the weight gain? I'm very small framed & petite. I was 45kg before i got pregnant, i'm now 56.2kg. I only ever put weight on when pregnant so could it be my body isn't used too it?

I'm really struggling and feel like everyone around me thinks i'm exaggerating :( If anyone has been through something similar i'd love to know your experience and what you did to cope!

Thank you

My feet hurt in pregnancy because of the extra weight. The hormones also make your joints sore because the ligaments are all stretchy. I also found I was prone to plantar fasciitis if I didn't regularly stretch my calves properly. You poor thing, I hope you get some relief from it and congrats on your pregnancy.

Thank you! i've currently got ice packs strapped to my feet as it's the only relief i can get 😖

Bring it up at mid wife appointment. Might be midwife has some other solutions for you to try.

Hi hopefully your feet have improved a little if kept elevated more often and wearing supportive shoes? If not, how are you feeling generally, Any other issues. ? When you press the sore, swollen feet does it leave an indentation ?
