Ligament pain before missed period?

We've been trying for number 3 (last one!!). Not stressing about it, Just going with the flow. Not using ovulation tests or anything this time. Just doing the deed with no protection.
I had round ligament pain with my second so I remember it well.
My period is due in a couple of days (sometimes not bang on but usually somewhat regular)

I've been having ligament pains the past few days. Stood up too quick and had to sit back down the pain is quite sharp. Also had it when I was stepping over the stair gate. I haven't missed a period yet. Could this be related to pregnancy? I'm only asking because I had this exact pain with my second and I've read that ligament pain is commonly associated with being pregnant and you don't really get it for any other reason apart from endometriosis.

I haven't missed my period yet and would think it would be too early to be getting these pains if it was pregnancy and we've only been trying for 1 month so I'd be shocked if it's happened first time! Has anyone else had this?

I don't want to rush out and buy tests as I've not even missed my period yet im just curious about the ligament pain.

Could it be pregnant or something else?

I doubt it, round ligament pain is a late pregnancy thing, caused by your growing bump everything stretching and having pressure put upon it.

Well I had round ligament pain as my first symptom on three out of five pregnancies, I’m hyper mobile so my ligaments are looser, not sure if that was related. It’s not a late pregnancy thing at all, it usually happens in the first trimester with coughing, sneezing, moving quickly.

I had ligament pain as my first symptom in all of mine. It was much worse when I sneezed or moved suddenly.

It's typically caused by the strain of the bump which can make if difficult to walk. I've had it in 5 out of my 6 pregnancies from about 24 weeks onwards. You can get stretching pains in early pregnancy that can probably be in your ligaments at times but it's not round ligament pain.

Okay then you’re right I’m wrong 🙄 🤷🏻‍♀️

@Garman that's interesting that this was your first symptom. I feel fine otherwise it's just the stitch like pain when moving too quickly I have too. Will wait and see if AF appears. I did have sore boobs and general period pains yesterday so I suppose I'll just need to wait and see. It's just strange that I have these pains and the only other time I've had them has been during pregnancy

@marshmallowsforbreakfast a lot of people seem to say they had this as their first symptom. So strange!

@Chellybelle well I don't know if it's actually round ligament pain. Just know it's bloody sore if I stand up too fast or bend the wrong way. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens. I had pelvic girdle pain with my last pregnancy too which was a nightmare. If it's not pregnancy then I can chat to the doctor and see if they have any suggestions

Still no AF for me yet. I have a sore back and yesterday and through the night I had a mild stabbing pain on my left side. Sad

Wow this is the thread I needed. I had ligament pain with my two girls trying now for our 3rd. This time I’ve had ligament pain all week no AF yet but due in 3 days. Hurts like anything when I cough or sneezing feels like I’m going to get AF though now! Very random!!also congratulations!!!

flowerpot258 · 22/11/2023 06:24

Did you wait until day of missed period to check? I’m due on this Saturday according to my app so CD24 at the moment. @flowerpot258 x

flowerpot258 · 22/11/2023 10:10

@gtx1797h I can't totally remember tbh. It might have been before missed period. I only tested as it was my birthday and I was ment to go on a night out so thought I better do a test just in case before I go out drinking and it came up positive straight away!

Joe long until you test?

I tested a few days ago which is probably far too early it was BFN. Still getting the ligament pain on every sneeze or cough and now do not feel like AF is on the way. Rollercoaster ride 🙈 I am massively hoping for a BFP haha x

@gtx1797h - aw, well good luck!! Sending baby dust your way Smile I'll keep everything crossed for you!
