36 wks but measuring 40cm at m'wife appointment....does it always mean a big baby? Whats your experience if you measured large?

thats it really! Am 36 wks ay my check I am measuring 4cm over, being sent for a growth scan next week to check weight of baby, but I just wondered what other peoples outcomes of measuring large for dates were??

i did as well papaya. scanned a big baby (97th percentile). But also measured just 38 weeks at 37 weeks once baby head had engaged. Good luck with scna, xx

I measured large both times and had 7lb6 and 7lb5 babies. LOADS of water both times and a huge stomach left now . Don't worry, there isn't much you can do anyway and it will hurt the same, large or small.

I measured similarly big, DS was born 40+2 days at 7lb 15oz, so fairly average. He's always been 98th percentile for length though (and for head circumference, ouch!)
