Sickness bug in early pregnancy

Hi all,

Just hoping for some reassurance really.

I am 4+4 weeks pregnant after a MMC in March. I was already a bit of a nervous wreck after the miscarriage but this morning I have come down with a sickness bug after looking after my poor 2 year old who's had it all week.

I haven't got a temperature yet but I feel flushed and assume one is coming as DS had one. I am beside myself at the thought that the temperature/the bug will cause harm to my pregnancy.

Can anyone give me any reassurance/positive stories to help me feel better? I appreciate that no one can predict what will happen, but I thought it might help me through the next couple of weeks.

Thanks!

I had food poisoning couple days before i found out I was pregnant. Well didn't realise I was till around 8 weeks cause I thought the food poisoning and thrown off my period but little man is a very happy content 1 year old 😊 so sorry for your loss. It'll be okay. I'm pregnant with my second and had a loss before this and hope this turns out okay x

I found out I was pregnant after a bout of norovirus lasted a little too long! Baby was perfect, I did loose weight during my pregnancy but I was overweight anyway and I did with my first also and didn’t have a stomach bug then.

I believe the main concern is around becoming dehydrated rather than the bug itself. Maybe buy some electrolytes to boost hydration a bit. I used HIGH5 zero during my pregnancy off Amazon x

I think I vomitted more with 'morning' sickness than I ever have with a bug. DS is a strapping 21 year old! As others say, keep your fluids up - small, frequent sips - and I'm sure you'll be fine.

Thanks all, your reassurance made me feel so much better.

I'm feeling a bit perkier today and never ended up with a fever which is what I'd been worried about.

Pregnancy after a miscarriage is no picnic, I'm sure I wouldn't have even considered this an issue in my first pregnancy!
