Week 9 and still so tired and sick, is that normal?

I get tired in the afternoon and started to vomit for the past week. Is that normal?

I also didn't take enough folic acid as I'm overweight and only got a prescription today.

Morning sickness peaks at 9-10 weeks, but I'm afraid you may still get it for another month yet..... xx

Babykingincoming · 09/05/2023 20:21

Unfortunately I was very sick until week 16! I'm still exhausted and it's week 26 now. Pregnancy is harder than i expected!

Randyforgiles · 09/05/2023 20:34

Yes. You're right in the thick of it at 9 weeks! I'm nearly 13 weeks and having more better days now. It's horrible but it does pass.

PinkPlantCase · 09/05/2023 20:40

Expect it to carry on for the first trimester and a few weeks into the second.

Pinkbumbles · 09/05/2023 20:56

My morning sickness and fatigue started about 6 weeks and ended about 13

firsttimemumggg · 09/05/2023 21:06

I was sick for 40 weeks- sorry!

WeWereInParis · 09/05/2023 21:15

Statistically morning sickness is worst for most people in weeks 9 & 10. So even though you may be sick for a while, you are likely to hit the peak very soon and then start feeling a bit better (even if not totally better).

That's good to know.

I was sick for about 14 weeks, maybe more. Bit of a reprieve in tri 2 and then it's heartburn and insomnia in tri 3! In both of my pregnancies I've felt under the weather for nearly the whole thing. That's just pregnancy.

It's so weird.

I don't understand why your body needs you to eat greens etc and exercise but you can't....

I had sickness until week 14.

Blue2020 · 11/05/2023 20:37

Oh and it got progressively worse each week from week 7 to week 14 for me. As in it was twice a week, then it went to daily. For the final few days after the dating scan I was sick multiple times a day and wondering why it was getting worse. Then one day it suddenly stopped (I guess the placenta fully took over) it was like a switch. Wasn’t sick at all after that.

firsttimemumggg · 11/05/2023 23:49

Oh no I've heard it can last until week 14.... :(

I was sick multiple times a day until week 16 and now at week 27 still suffer with nausea and occasional vomiting. It's a big change for your body.

Pitstop1986 · 17/05/2023 20:43

I'm 10+4 and my sickness has really ramped up over the last few days. I'm hoping it's the sign that things are about to change for the better.

With my first, I felt terrible- nauseous, dizzy and exhausted from week 7 and it peaked (was terrible and I kept fainting) at weeks 12. I felt like death for a week, then woke up at 13 weeks a new woman! I definitely got my pregnancy glow and had a lovely, healthy pregnancy from there on.

Did any of you taking 5mg of folic acid / prescription folic acid find it extended your cycles ?
