...what was your baby's estimated versus actual due date weight? Please could you include what gestation they were born at as well? Thanks 😊

Had a scan at 38+3 said 8lbs 1oz
arrived at 38+5 and was 8lbs 10oz

cheshirecatssmile · 09/05/2023 21:12

These stories are sort of calming my nerves. Daughter is 36 weeks and having 3rd on Thursday. Both previous scans 32 & 34 weeks measured baby at 3Lb 1oz. They said if she's not grown on this next scan, daughter is to be induced

Leapintothelightning · 09/05/2023 21:17

Growth scan at 36 weeks. Estimated weight at the point was 6lb - they guessed birth weight would be 7lb.
Born at 39+6 - 8lb 6oz

ladygindiva · 09/05/2023 21:23

My last growth scan at 36 weeks with my DTs said
Twin 1 estimated approx 5lb, twin 2 approx 7 lb, they were delivered 7 days later and were 6lb 2 and 6lb 9, so not very accurate but not wildly wrong either.

msisfine · 09/05/2023 21:25

Pretty much bang on, give or take a couple of ounces. But she was a week early so might have ended up a wee bit bigger if I'd have gone full term.

LampHat · 09/05/2023 21:26

36 weeks scan estimated 7lbs
Born at 38 weeks, 5lbs 2oz.

So not great for me!!

ToddlerMum2 · 09/05/2023 21:32

Growth scans at 35/37/39 weeks all estimated DS to be around 10lb 7oz at 40weeks. The usual story, I was railroaded into induction because I had a “massive” baby…etc.
He was born bang on his due date at 8lb 11oz, so still a decent size but considerably smaller than they thought!

Geneva12 · 09/05/2023 21:36

Growth scan at 36 weeks. Estimated weight 7lb 5oz

born 37+6 weeks. 6lbs on the dot.

TokenGinger · 09/05/2023 21:39

Growth scan at 38 weeks, prediction was 8lb11oz current weight.

Baby arrived 39+2 at 8lb8oz.

I declined induction. They were warning baby would be over 4.5kg and would risk getting stuck and needing their shoulders dislocated to get out. But she came out just fine in her own time.

Creepyrosemary · 09/05/2023 21:40

I had growth scans every two weeks, she was big and about a pound bigger than estimated. I don't remember what the exact estimate was and they said that it gets more inaccurate the further along you are. Induced birth at 38+4. (Well induction started af 38 but little to no progress for the first 2.5-3 days)

Fishflopper · 09/05/2023 21:42

Dd1 growth scan 38 weeks estimated weight 9lbs something. Born 41 weeks 6lbs 15.

Rockingcloggs · 09/05/2023 21:48

Growth scan at 35 weeks estimated 9lb 3oz

Born via induction at 37 weeks exactly weighing 9lb 10oz

Jumpingjellycats · 09/05/2023 21:50

Growth scan at 36 weeks, estimated weight was 5lb 15, induced at 37 weeks and birth weight was a tiny 4lb 7 (IUGR baby)

addictedtotheflats · 09/05/2023 21:51

Growth scan at 39 weeks 7lb 6

Born 41+3 9lb 9

Cas112 · 09/05/2023 21:56

Estimated over 8lb.. born 6lb 5

crackersforcheese · 09/05/2023 21:57

I had a growth scan at 36 weeks and baby was around 5lb, baby was born at 37+2 at 6lb 2 oz x

HippeePrincess · 09/05/2023 22:08

Regular growth scan with all 3 of my babies 33% accurate 😅.
1: estimated to be 8-8.5lb at birth, was over 10lb
2: estimated to be over 10lb, was just under 8lb
3: estimated to be 10lb full term, was 4/5 days before due date weighing 9lb11oz so actually accurate.

quirkyquerty · 09/05/2023 22:29

Growth scans in third trimester, they didn't think my placenta was working so well and predicted baby was around the 6lb mark. Induced at 37 weeks for both pregnancies and had two 4lb 7oz babies- both perfectly healthy and home the next day. Tiny but perfect

JustTheOneSwanActually · 09/05/2023 23:48

Growth scan at 36 weeks estimated baby to be 7lbs 10oz.

Induced at 38 weeks. I had a scan hours before delivery due to position and was told again baby is 'huge'.

Baby born at 38+4 weighing 6lb 15oz, 8th centile. Now 4 months and up to 50th.

ImSoShiney · 09/05/2023 23:52

Estimated 4lb 0oz gestation 34+1
Actual 6lb 1oz gestation 34+5
No gestational diabetes but baby had complex medical condition

SemperIdem · 09/05/2023 23:56

Medically estimated due date was 14/6
Arrived on the due date I calculated based on period etc, 4 days earlier.

Cdoc · 10/05/2023 05:00

Last growth scan at 38 weeks estimated baby to be at least 9lb 4.
Born at 40+2 weighing 8lb 3oz!

PointyMcguire · 10/05/2023 05:48

Induced at 38+2 due to reduced growth
Born at 38+6
Predicted weight 6lb 2oz at 38wk scan (below 10th percentile)
Actual weight 6lb 8oz (24th percentile)

Growth scans at later gestation aren’t an exact science so I’d take results with a pinch of salt. Though interestingly the private scan we had the day before induction was spot on in terms of final birth weight.

BabyMamaOf2 · 15/05/2023 11:20

I had a growth scan whilst I was in labour (40+6). Estimated at 8lb 6oz. Was quite shocked as me and my husband are quite small (I’m 5ft2)…baby arrived that afternoon weighing 9lb😂

SunshineIndoors123 · 15/05/2023 12:26

Growth scan 39+4 estimated baby's weight at 8lbs 5oz. He was born 40+3 weighing 7lbs 8oz
