...what was your baby's estimated versus actual due date weight? Please could you include what gestation they were born at as well? Thanks 😊

I had a couple of scans at 36 weeks (1 NHS, 1 private as I didn’t believe the NHS one!). Both estimated baby would be 9lbs at 40 weeks. Baby was born day before her due date and weighed 9lbs exactly.

Everyone said the scans are really inaccurate so I wasn’t expecting them
to be spot on!

Mumbleer · 09/05/2023 19:54

Estimated 4lbs 4oz at 36 week scan
Induced for being small but not successful in starting labour, so had planned section at 38 weeks exactly, weight 5lbs 13 so probably accurate.
Wish I had refused induction and gone naturally, as we were no where near ready for labour and DD would have probably been 6-7lbs or above at birth

NoIncomeTaxNoVAT · 09/05/2023 19:54

Growth scan at 37+3 predicted 5lbs 9oz, born at 38 exactly weighing 5lbs 12oz. So accurate for us!

Ilovetea42 · 09/05/2023 19:55

Was 6lbs approx at growth scan. Was 9lbs 2oz at birth at 39+5

ricketybeauty · 09/05/2023 19:56

Estimated 9 and a half lb, born at 11lb 7oz at 40+5! Not very accurate for me!

AlltheFs · 09/05/2023 19:59

I had a million growth scans, but the last one was at 37 weeks I think and estimated birth weight 6lb 7, DD was born at 6lb 10 at 40 weeks.

MummyJ36 · 09/05/2023 20:02

I had a growth scan as they were concerned that baby was measuring big. Their prediction at full term was just over 10lb. Baby boy came via c-section at 39+4 at 9lb 15oz. Everyone told me predictions would be off but it was obvious baby boy would have been over 10lb if I’d have gone to 40 weeks!

Thisriveriswild · 09/05/2023 20:07

My bump was measuring absolutely massive at 38+5 so they gave me a growth scan at 38+6 and estimated baby was about 7lb. She was born 3 days later and actually weighed 8lb 7oz!

Cherrymarket · 09/05/2023 20:07

i had a growth scan at 39+3 due to bump measuring off the charts small.
measured at 7lbs 3oz on the scan, born at 40weeks 7lbs 2oz.

scaredysquiggle · 09/05/2023 20:10

Growth scan at 34 weeks and baby estimated to be 7.5lbs already.
Born at 39 weeks and weighed in at 10.5lbs. So spot on for us

babyno2dust · 09/05/2023 20:13

I had a scan on my due date, baby was measuring 43 weeks. Estimated weight just over 10lb. Baby girl was born less than 24 hours later weighing 7lb 6!

WhatAmIDoingWrong123 · 09/05/2023 20:13

My baby kept measuring a little higher than they were expecting on the centiles so I went for a couple of growth scans that always showed her growing at just about right. She was born at 41wks 7.5lbs so far from a huge baby!

bexyo · 09/05/2023 20:15

estimated 6 lb 3
Born 6 days later at 6 lb 4!

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 09/05/2023 20:16

Estimated to be 6lbs 1oz at 38 weeks
Born 6lbs 1oz at 40 + 2 weeks x

Dontknowwhyidoit · 09/05/2023 20:17

Had growth scans every two weeks from 30 weeks due to GD in last 2 pregnancies. Iast scans at 36 weeks said around 8lb for both babies and 1 was 8.1oz at 37 weeks and other was 7.5oz at 37+3. So not far off for both.

Mynotsoperfectlittlefamily · 09/05/2023 20:20

Growth scan done at 38 weeks they said he was over 9lbs, went into labour straight after he was born that night, 7lbs 6oz. Very inaccurate for me

Tiredmum100 · 09/05/2023 20:40

Estimated 9lb 13 oz, he was 9lb 10oz . But the last growth scan was 4 ish weeks before he was born (I think).

CloseYourMouthLynn · 09/05/2023 20:42

I had growth scans all throughout my second pregnancy. Last one at 39 weeks estimated him to be 8.5 pounds and he was 7.1 pounds at 40+2 weeks, I was quite relieved!

Lochjeda · 09/05/2023 20:44

34 weeks he was predicted 6lbs in the scan and when he was born at 38+5 he was 9lb 9.5oz

Bluepanda86 · 09/05/2023 20:44

Had several growth scans / additional scans with DD2.

Last scan was 40+3 due to be being over due and keeping an eye on fluid levels.

Was approx 8lb 7oz at the scan.

Was inducted with my consent at 41 weeks - she was 7lb 12oz.

Bluepanda86 · 09/05/2023 20:45

*induced

Scottishskifun · 09/05/2023 20:49

DS1 growth scan at 37 week estimated 7.10lb for birth weight.....born 39 weeks was 9.1lb midwifes words were did you know you were having a big baby...he was very long 56cm

DS2 growth scan at 37 weeks estimated 8.9lbs was warned he was big....born 38 weeks 7lb

So I don't really believe them as they have been pretty off twice in my case!

IHeartGeneHunt · 09/05/2023 20:51

38w estimated 6lb 7.

Born 42+3 weighing 8 lb 4.

Riverbiscuits · 09/05/2023 20:53

I had growth scans from 32 weeks and they were very accurate, baby born at 40+5

DrMirandaBailey · 09/05/2023 21:01

Growth scans at 31 and 33 weeks, 50th percentile and predicted weight at 40 weeks would have been around 7lb 7oz (I think)

Growth scan due to reduced movements at 38+4 and showed baby had gone down to below 3rd centile and estimated weight at that time was 5lb10oz. Induced the next day and weighed 5lb10oz - so extremely accurate!
