Bleeding

I’m around about 5 weeks, based off LMP, but I didn’t track my ovulation last month so could be less than 5 weeks.
We’ve been trying for baby number 2 for nearly 2 years, didn’t think I was pregnant as thought period had started just over a week ago. ‘Period’ was 2 days late starting.
Period didn’t really start, it was extremely light and just when wiping( sorry tmi), so 2 days in I did a test and it was positive.
Im now 8 days from when I started spotting/bleeding and it’s still there. It’s only when I wipe and definetly lighter/ more old blood than it was in the beginning, sometimes it’s been stringy mixed with clear discharge.
The last 2/3 days it’s stopped by late afternoon and then nothing until the next morning, when it’s back to being just when I wipe.

I’ve had HCG monitoring and I’m due for another on Tuesday, it’s doubled on each occasion, last one was 676 on Friday. It isn’t ectopic as sac was visualised on ultrasound when my first hcg was taken.

I guess I’m just looking for some other experiences of similar stories. I didn’t bleed at all with my first and I’m absolutely petrified.

Hello, i have had loads of light bleeding with my current second pregnancy. Always when i wipe. I have been worried as it isn't a nice sign to see, but 10weeks and all still is going well.
I had spotting early and then about 7 weeks, then 9 weeks and it lasts for days but only light.

i had very similar. Had a BFP 11dpo then the day after AF was due started spotting only when wiping.

It was at its ‘heaviest’ (but still very light) at 15dpo so I assumed it was a chemical. However,
it eased off to a small amount when wiping and only once a day or so, not every time I wiped.

I think it stopped completely about 4.5 weeks or so. I’m now 6w+2 and seems fine, I did a clear blue and got my 3 weeks + bang on time so seems to be heading in the right direction…

I think it was just implantation bleeding but the stress was awful.

Oh it's so stressful isn't it! Spotting can be so common in pregnancy. I had spotting for the first 12 weeks, kept panicking and booking private scans but all was ok (typing this with 4 month old in my arms). Have you got any scans booked in?

It’s awful, I had no bleeding at all with my first.
Had serial hcgs done at epu, more because I have a prev ectopic. Had a fast scan a week ago in A&E and could just about make out a sac, but nothing else which was expected. I have another hcg booked for tomorrow, they’re waiting for my hcg to be above 1600 to scan me properly.

It’s so weird, the last few days it’s just morning. Then this afternoon it’s been a bit stringy and gone again. It seems to more (still only when I wipe) when I’m up and about.

This is so reasurring. I have never had spotting so regular in my first pregnancy, so to gear you had spotting for the firsr 12 weeks and have a happy healthy baby, is so reasurring x

Looks like I’m heading towards mc. My hcg was 676 on Friday and only 1323 today, which is 4 days after.
Spottings still there just a bit heavier but still light bleeding.

Emmapg I’m right there with you. I am current 5+2days I started bleeding yesterday. This morning I was referred for a scan at the hospital as I am getting slight cramping on my right side. They wanted to check for an ectopic. So far as it stands i am no further forward. They could could not detect anything apart from being blood in my endometrium (not sure what that means)and said It may be due to very early pregnancy so they couldn’t confirm it was conclusive or I was going through a loss. I’ve had my bloods taken, and I go back on Thurs for my second lot of bloods.
when I got home I took a pregnancy test and it confirmed a pregnancy of 1-2 weeks on a clear blue and I’m actual 5 weeks, and on a test strip there was barely a line at all. Feeling very deflated today. Looks like my HCG is on its way out and I’m going through a MC. Sending you lots of love and praying for a miracle for us all. X

I am so sorry to hear you might be gping through a MC. Take a test in the morning when you have held on to your wee overnight and see if it comes up stronger.
I had a lot of pain in my lower right and spotting, so I wouldnt worry yet. See what your wee shows in the morning. Sending cuddles

I have a repeat hcg tomorrow. Bleedings still there. Pretty much convinced they’re going to tell me hcgs dropped or not moved and it’ll end in miscarriage, even though I’m crazily googling for success stories

Did you manage to take a pregnancy test this morning?

No I haven’t, I’ve been having bloods for hcg done because I have a history of ectopic for nearly 2 weeks now which is more accurate.. I haven’t taken a test since the day I found out.
I think a test would keep my hopes up as it’ll still be positive. Praying for a miracle between tonight and tomorrow

Seriously confused.
HCG has now nearly doubled today-2400.
had a private scan as the hospital mentioned needing to rule out ectopic, even though I was told a week ago that the dr in A&e had visualised a gestational sac intrauterine.

Went for a private scan today, no sign of ectopic, but said it still could be and she said she thinks she can maybe see a gestational sac.
Still bleeding, still only very minimal pain intermittently.
My head is ready to explode. I was totally ready for it’s a miscarriage today and now I have no idea what’s happening.

Oh how frustrating, must be so hard to be in such limbo!! Guess no news is good news for now. What are your next steps, will you book another private scan?

They’ve booked me an nhs scan on Tuesday. It’s just all backwards and forwards. I’ve already had one ectopic and only have the one tube, thought we’d ruled that out, so now to have that back as a potential is horrific

The unknown must be awful. Positive news that HCG has doubled. Is the pain a lot or managaeable? I had pain where my appendix was, but turned out fine.

Keeping fingers crossed on tuesday they see a baby in the right place.

If it’s a miscarriage or ectopic we’ll be devastated after trying for so long but at least we’ll know, now we’re preparing ourselves and then every time we think this is it there’s a different possibility thrown at us.

Keep the faith. I had slight bleeding ( brown discharge type ) with my second baby a few times, particularly when I'd down lots of walking in the early weeks. All was ok.
