Hey all

very happily pregnant at 16 weeks and a few days now and I’ve been convinced I’m ‘showing’ since like week 14

my belly just looks pregnant. Like the tip top just below my boobs proper pokes out (particularly in the evening) and even sitting I’m noticing like my boobs are starting to rest on it when I’m sitting lol. I have definitely gained weight but it’s not how I’d normally gain it, belly and boobs are over taking my whole body.

is it possible to show this early ? Everyone’s like nah too early but it just looks so pregnant and not like full on gut

Yes, it's possible. It will probably be more obvious to you than to others.

Dartmoorcheffy · 08/05/2023 15:25

It's normal to have a bump at 16 weeks

UpUpUpU · 08/05/2023 15:26

A bump is normal at 16 weeks but wouldn’t reach below your boobs. That will just be bloating

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 08/05/2023 17:02

I'm showing already and I'm 11 weeks, second baby. I've not gained much weight and was only just over 9st starting but it's obvious in many of my clothes it's definitely possible to show at 16 weeks x

Having a bump is absolutely normal at 16 weeks but it will be a low bump where your uterus is. Anything that is under your boobs is your stomach and will be from bloating which is very common in pregnancy.

megletthesecond · 08/05/2023 18:29

That's normal. I had to love into maternity trousers / jeans by week ten.

BurbageBrook · 08/05/2023 18:30

Most people are showing at that stage.

Dinosaurus86 · 08/05/2023 18:53

Definitely possible. I had a small bump (noticeable to me) from 11/12 weeks with dc1. I really envy those who manage to stay in their normal clothes until 30+ weeks!

ShowOfHands · 08/05/2023 18:56

A bump at 16 weeks is totally normal but lower down.

philautia · 08/05/2023 19:31

At 16 weeks, just bloating if it's below your bra line. You will most likely be showing, but very low down.

UnaVaca · 08/05/2023 19:36

Bloating

OliverKitten · 08/05/2023 19:58

Agree with others, you might have a normal low bump, but assuming you are otherwise healthy it won't be up at your ribcage yet! It won't even reach your belly button until sometime around week 22 iirc (you can Google pictures of uterus height by week).
Unless you have twins or fibroids or something which is making your uterus bigger than standard.

Fourteen weeks is about usual for personal awareness.
