Overdue and extremely anxious as an older mum....

I am officially overdue and feeling absolutely nothing. Induction already booked in for 41 weeks and will have a few scans this week to make sure placenta is still coping. I am having a major doubt on whether I should induce now instead of waiting for a few more day until 41 weeks, I am 3 months short of being 40 years old and if I were 40 years old my consultant would have offered induction on due date (completely smooth and straightforward pregnancy though) so I am beating myself up on whether I should have gone for induction this week instead as I am so close to being 40 years old!!

Anyone else had good experience with waiting a few days longer as an older mum?

I was 42 with my second-a huge baby and a week late! I was offered an induction-but the consultant was fine with me saying if possible I didn't want one. I was monitored every two days (helped that I lived very close to the hospital) and kept a careful eye on the baby's movement. He was born after a straight forward labour on the most convenient day possible for me any just in time for me to have morning coffee. He's been a most obliging person ever since!

As long as you are being closely monitored as you have mentioned re placenta, that would be my only concern.

You could always call your midwife tomorrow morning and ask them to do a sweep for you?

Have you tried raspberry leaf tea? I had it and went into labour that day
