Morning sickness getting worse 14/15 weeks

Have had terrible morning sickness since about 6 weeks.

Going with lmp I am 15 weeks today, at 12 week scan midwife said I was 12+4, I thought I was 13+1 but she said baby was lying awkward so give or take a few days. So I am either 14+3 or 15 weeks (just to give you a rough guide).

My morning sickness has got worse over the last few weeks, especially the last week, after feeling slightly better for a week or so.

Struggling to keep alot of things down so mainly eating crackers and fruit and drinking water.

I am so deflated, it is impacting me both physically and mentally.

Has anyone had this and it got worse at 14ish weeks then it got better? I am so worried it is going to go on for the last 5 months and I can't cope with it.

Tried cyclizine, prochlaperazine and now on ondanstrenton (which isn't helping at all)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi OP, has your midwife talked to you about hyperemesis? I would also rule out an infection/new food intolerance if you’ve had a period of it getting worse.

@doeandfawn yes she has mentioned hyperemisis but I'm hoping it's not that. Will start a food diary and try that thank you.

I’d check out the hyperemesis support page. Mine got worse then too, I’m 17 weeks and doing better also on ondansetron. It took a full week of taking the ondansetron at set times to feel any better from that drug. Dunno if thats relevant to you? I’m on omeprazole too. There’s a ton of advice from pregnancy sickness support who are good. Rest is the only thing to work for me when it was bad. A lot of people feel relief from 20 weeks onward even if it doesn’t completely go, so hopefully you are past the worst. It could also be because you are unwell with something else so best to check.

Yeah, mine got worse at 14/15 but improved a LOT at 16 weeks. I heard that sometimes it gets worse as your body prepares to hand over to the placenta (not sure if that makes sense though). I'm 18 weeks now and throwing up only about once a week!

Some of my worst sickness days were between 12-15 weeks until it finally went away at 16.5 weeks. My sympathies OP 💕

Hi OP
My sickness started at 6 weeks and lasted until week 19 - diagnosed with HG
I was sick day and night and had to go into hospital few times for drips
Eventually it calmed down and was all fine.
My advice would be ride the wave (easier said than done) - it will end and you'll get better.
All the best! :)
