So I found out I was pregnant Thursday 27/04 and confirmed with digital (1-2) Saturday 29/04. 1 week later today it's still saying 1-2. Should I be worried? According to LMP I'm 7 weeks today but according to conception im more like 5.

I was stuck on 2-3 weeks for a bit. Stopped testing then. I'm 10 weeks now and had a scan this week and all ok at the moment. I think it's common with these tests x

Thank you for the reply. I have a midwife appointment on the 18th but panicking something will happen before then and doubt I'm 7 weeks due to my test lines still not being strong

I'm 8 weeks with LMP 10/03 and found out I was pregnant on 07/04. Were you 2 weeks late when you tested positive? Are your cycles regular?

Lmp was 18th march. Had brown spotting 2nd,3rd,4th,5th which then stopped. Yes I was 2 weeks late and I'm irregular however have never missed a period even by a day so I knew I was. If I counted the brown spotting as a period I could potentially be 5 weeks but going from LMP I'm 7 weeks.

Sorry for any confusion on my part, but how can your cycles be irregular but you know when you are due and that you are never late? Do you mean you have longer/shorter cycles than average 28 days? If so, do you think the timing works out that you could have had a much shorter cycle at the beginning of April and conceived mid - April from your brown spotting episode? It's an interesting situation.

Unfortunately I do not have any advice other than to wait and test again after one week to see how your pregnancy is progressing. You can also track your lines progression on cheaper hcg test strips. I had 20 pregnancy test strips included in my 50 ovulation tests that I bought for £19 on amazon. Significantly cheaper than purchasing anything at the shops or chemist's.

You can also reach out to your early pregnancy assessment services to see if they can provide any guidance.

Thank you. Sorry for miscommunication, my cycles are irregular as I was on nexplanon, I got pregnant a month/just less than a month after getting it removed. I mean they've never been longer than 28 days x

have you thought about getting a private scan? I had one at 8 weeks with my last 2 pregnancies. I had issues with tests getting lighter and taking ages to progress so it was much better seeing it on a scan and knowing for sure

Did you feel more reassured after the scans? I have an appointment in 12 days 😊

@duedec2023 yes definitely. Especially with my current pregnancy. My test lines got lighter and then took a really long time to get darker. I was convinced I’d lost the baby. So I wanted to have the scan so at least I would know either way and I could stop worrying. I left it until 8 weeks so I would be sure something would be seen. Thankfully there was a nice strong heartbeat. Obviously it doesn’t mean things won’t go wrong but it was a comfort to know that the baby was viable and growing as expected.

The hard truth is, no one knows @duedec2023. It could be just some spotting or it could be a chemical/early loss. Only time will tell.

You could have a private scan or call your EPU to see what they think you should do. The issue with an early scan is it might leave you more confused than you are now though if it’s too early to tell.

You could repeat tests every few days, but that’s not an exact science either and is an additional cost.

It’s hard. How are you doing at the moment?

PickledScrump · 07/05/2023 15:22

@duedec2023 i had bleeding at 9 weeks. More than what you have there. I went to see epu for a scan and all was fine. Unfortunately it’s impossible to know for sure without a scan if everything is ok

Went to outpatients for appointment. They said cramping and spotting is normal but in next 3 days I should get a call from EPU for an early scan. They took hpt at hospital and it's still positive. But came home and got this. Sorry TMI but I only get the vaginal bleeding or spotting (only started today) from after dtd or after bowel movements.

Just wondering what your outcome was as I'm experiencing the same with the tests.
