Hi all, recently found out I am pregnant. Due December 2023. I have been in my current job for a year now but for some reason I am really worried about telling my boss! I am 25 years of age and been with my partner for 7 years now, recently brought our first house.

I don’t know if I am worried because I think I will be judged for being ‘too young’ or something else, can’t really put my finger on what it is but I just feel very anxious about everything, even telling my family though I know they will be over the moon.

Just looking for a bit of reassurance.

thank you

Don't worry OP.

If anything you'll need to tell them eventually so you can attend appointments and have time off sick of you're feeling unwell etc.

No obligation to say anything until the cut off time. It's completely up to you.

Congratulations, try to focus on your well-being. The work stress should definitely be put on the back burner for now.

It’s a bit of a vulnerable thing to tell people isn’t it - your body is changing and is suddenly the subject of conversation! And it’s a huge life change, lots to think through and get used to.

Agree work will be fine and you don’t need to tell them until you have to - check on your work’s maternity policy etc first and take your time.
