Hello, I am 40 weeks today, I have just been for a sweep and the midwife said she has brought my cervix forward and that she managed to get a finger in so it could work but might not. Anyone had the same or similar experience? I have another one booked for Saturday incase it didn't work but hoping he comes before. TIA

I'm sure if you wanted you could have another sweep before Saturday, my midwife was happy to try every 48hrs for me!

@SouthwestSis Oh really? She did have an appointment in 2 days time but she said that is too close

My midwife offers them as long as its been over 24hrs since your last one but she aims for every 2 days if you consent to having them that much.... I've had 3 so far over the last week and nothing has happened!

Is there a reason you are trying to induce labour? There isn't any good evidence they work and they do come with risks, bleeding, infection and so on

Agree.
Is there a reason why you aren't letting things happen natural? I've been started off (for a medical reason) and let my other come when he was ready. So have experienced both and having intervention was worse
