Every night I get back pain that’s bad enough to wake me up, last night it was getting to the point where I thought labour could be coming, it’s my lower back but last night I also had pulsing pain under my left last rib on my back, I get back pain every day but at night when I lay down it’s so much worse

Hi, just wanted to sympathise. I’m 30wks & having similar on my right side back between ribs and hip which is like a dull ache that intensifies in waves randomly and much more often at night. I went to the maternity assessment unit because the pain was so bad I was throwing up/writhing in agony. I’m waiting on a scan to check for possible kidney issues and am on antibiotics in case it’s a kidney infection. If it’s severe pain that comes and goes in waves it could be worth getting checked out by your hospital’s maternity assessment unit or gp, just in case it’s not muscular pain! Hope you feel better soon

I'd get checked over at MAU.
I didn't realise I was in labour with DS as it was all in my back. He was back to back:

I've literally written a post the same as this..it's bloody awful isn't it! I'm 38 weeks and every night around 1am I'm awake with this awful lower back ache and have to sit on the edge of the bed for 20 odd minutes and take two paracetamol. It's exhausting and I'm getting shitter sleep then what I would with a newborn (this is my 3rd child).
