Collustrum collection

I'm pregnant with baby number four and last baby.
I have never wanted to breastfed and have always been glad I didn't. Bottle feeding has always been something I was more happy with.
With my third though I had been told I could collect my collustrum for baby with a syringe. When time came that midwife wasn't available and I ended up with a really snooty one who just tried to force me to breastfed instead so it never happened.
This time round it seems the care has changed so I'm getting the same midwife right up to birth which is great. My midwife has brought up how I wish to feed baby and was really supportive of me collecting my collustrum. She said she would get me more info about it.
My question is really did you do this with a syringe kit and how did it go? I'm aware I can do it from 37 weeks only and I can freeze it.

I did this! It took a bit of practise, I was getting barely anything at first, but after a bit of practise I was able to easily fill a 1ml syringe in 5 mins or so. Just research different techniques and don’t worry if you don’t get anything / much at first. I used to cup my hand into a “C” shape and try to mimic the motion of a baby suckling and would change my hand position every now and again. Good luck!
