First baby paranoia

So this is my first baby and I tested positive with faint lines thursday and Friday and confirmed with a digital Saturday. My LMP was 18th march so around 6 weeks ago but CB digital is saying 1-2 pregnant so 3-4 weeks. Are my lines too faint? I'm so terrified of anything going wrong and have seen people with stronger lines. I'm going to stop panic testing. However these look not that strong. I reckon I'm more 4 weeks. Any help would be appreciated I.e comparison of test lines or personal experience. Thanks :)

P.s I only broke the test after timeframe to take pic of the line straight after. The line did show up straight away.

Firstly, congratulations!

Those digital tests should be bloody banned. They're rubbish and not accurate at all. They cause people more anxiety!

You might not actually be where you think you are with your cycle/pregnancy. You could be less than what you think.

What time are you taking these tests? Ideally, first pee of the day they should be done. If you've drank a lot and it's middle of the day when you take one your tests won't be as strong anyway.

I was a week ahead of what the clear blue test said I was (and I did two). Healthy pregnancy and six years old now. They were accurate with my other pregnancies.

Maybe you ovulated later than you thought?

I came off the implant 17th march. 18th started period. So surely I'd be 6 weeks? Did have brown spotting 2nd-5th april so maybe that was instead of period and that's why clearblue is saying 3-4 weeks?

So when should you have had a period?

I don't think you're as far as you think but phone the Doctors's tomorrow for them to test your HCG levels if you're worried.

You had a period a day after the implant was taking out which is early isn't it? Which makes me think you might not be as far as you think you are but I'm no expert!

The brown spotting started on the day I had implant out (a couple hours before) and period started fully next day so makes me think it was coming anyway. I suffered bad periods on nexplanon and would have 2 a month which is why I have no idea on my cycles.

Oh okay.

So it's hard to work out where you're at then.

I know it's easier said than done but keep testing and it'll send you crazy.

Today you're pregnant so celebrate that. It's only the fainter line which is causing you anxiety which could be completely normal as you don't know where you're at.

My last cycle was only 16 days and then in next cycle the brown spotting (april 2nd-5th) started on cycle day 16 which makes me wonder if I had brown instead of a period. My periods usually last 5-6 days and the brown spotting lasted 4 days. If It did count as a period (just an off one) I'd be 4 weeks 2 days which seems about right? But if I'm counting from proper LMP then I'd be just over 6 weeks which I doubt coz of faint lines.

If you were 6 weeks then yes I think you would get darker lines.

4 weeks sounds about right. Maybe try book a scan in two weeks file to get a little bit of reassurance where you're at. You won't see much though mind or ask to be referred to EPU from your doctor and explain your concern/worries.

Oh bless you. I only had a dye stealer the day of my missed period with my DS but knew where I was at in my cycle! With my twins I had a dye stealer at about 14DPO which should've given me a clue I had another one in there too but I didn't even think about the line being stronger 🤣.

But lines literally change all the time. Could be faint today but dark tomorrow! xx

This is all new to me so thanks for your help haha. So you were around the 4 week mark when you had a dye stealer? Are my lines normal for 4 weeks😅

OP posts:
PinkButtercups · 02/05/2023 01:10

Yes around that time or closer to 5 weeks.
Yes your lines could be like that at 4 weeks. It's important to remember too that HCG rises quicker in some than it will others and that doesn't mean there is anything wrong it's just normal occurrences in different people.

But it's not uncommon for a test to look like that at 4 weeks.

I don't thing that was a period you had mid March... it couldn't have been bc your I don't ovulate with the implant.
I think your probs 3-4 weeks hence the fainter line.
Good luck with it x
