Yes and I had severe preeclampsia.

Phone midwife.

SquigglePigs · 28/04/2023 14:53

Seconded on the potentially pre-eclampsia. You need to get checked out.

Spockrates · 28/04/2023 14:54

@name985 i thought it could be a sign labour was soon :( going to phone now

LindyHopathon · 28/04/2023 14:56

Sign of pre-eclampsia, not labour.
You need to call triage immediately.

DustyMaiden · 28/04/2023 14:56

Yes, Hugh blood pressure.

WhatNoRaisins · 28/04/2023 14:56

I'd definitely get that checked out in case of pre-eclampsia

name985 · 28/04/2023 14:56

@Spockrates Glad you are getting checked. Flowers

LindyHopathon · 28/04/2023 14:56

BTW I'm a midwife.

caramac04 · 28/04/2023 15:01

Hope you’re going to hospital to get checked out. Another one here concerned it’s pre-eclampsia. Please update us when you can v

mac1974 · 28/04/2023 15:02

I had this about the same stage & went to hospital for a check. Was induced there and then! I hadn't even finished packing my bag so had to rely on DH which wasn't ideal. Good luck op definitely get checked x

Spockrates · 28/04/2023 15:05

@LindyHopathon i called triage they weren’t really concerned because I’m low risk pregnancy they told me take paracetamol and call back in an hour if the headache doesn’t go away xx

Hmm.
I am not impressed with that response (but obviously can't do anything about it).
Please do ring them back in an hour.
I hope things turn out okay for you.

TheSnailAndTheWaaaail · 28/04/2023 15:10

Anyone can develop pre ecclampsia at any time, not just high risk pregnancies! I'd go in and get checked personally.

ChocHotolate · 28/04/2023 15:11

Hold be preeclampsia as mentioned here but could also be a migraine

Fluffycloudsblusky · 28/04/2023 15:13

You need your blood pressure checked. Do you have monitor?
i had floaters and headaches. I had high blood pressure that was monitored.
please go and be checked out. It is important

BillyNoM8s · 28/04/2023 15:13

It could also be an ocular migraine.

I get them occasionally and they're very odd. Don't always come with a headache either.

Google image and you'll see what the visions look like. It's like someone's cracked your vision and opened a portal into another dimension. Zig zag black and white or coloured shimmering patches on the outskirts of your field of vision.

Spockrates · 28/04/2023 15:14

@BillyNoM8s the sparkles I saw were very similar to the sparks that come off a sparkler and were just dancing around

OP posts:
clouise30 · 28/04/2023 15:16

Please get your blood pressure checked asap! Seeing little stars/sparkles was my first sign of pre eclampsia followed by headaches and swelling and generally feeling unwell!

VeggieSausage · 28/04/2023 15:19

I had this and it turned out to be pre-eclampsia. I was told by the doctor that I was fine... when the midwife took my blood pressure it was so high I was told I needed to be in hospital within the hour. Please go and get yourself checked x good luck!

Spockrates · 28/04/2023 15:19

@clouise30 hi I did call they told me to call back within an hour if the headache doesn’t go away which I will do I had my blood pressure checked a few days ago at a midwife appointment also xx

Pre-eclampsia can appear very suddenly, so a normal BP reading a few days ago doesn't mean it's normal now.
(Obviously it could be fine, but until someone checks it, you won't know).

Snowite · 28/04/2023 16:13

Pre eclampsia. I had this suddenly at 37.5, emergency C section within 12 hours. Had a prenatal check 48 hours previously with normal BP. Take care and do not let yourself get fobbed off.

Snowite · 28/04/2023 16:14

I meant it just sounds like preeclampsia. Not a doctor and don't want to worry you unnecessarily....just be prepared ❤️

Spockrates · 28/04/2023 17:13

Hi @LindyHopathon the headache is mostly gone now just a very mild niggle which I would rate as maybe 0.5 out of 10 on pain scale does that sound ok?

I would still go and have your BP checked and check your urine for protein just to be safe! Hope all goes well :)
