Baby Movements?

Hi everyone. I'm trying to figure out if I'm feeling movements or not. I'm 23 Weeks and only have a tiny bump, so naturally I'm worrying a lot (first baby). I have felt for the past couple of weeks what feels like random pops, like gas bubbles. Not fluttering, is this baby moving?

Thing is, I feel them continuously for a bit and then they stop and I only feel them when I'm relaxing on the settee or lying down, not when standing or moving. I'm not sure if I'm feeling baby moving or if I'm just wishing I am.

I felt the same as you, it didn’t feel like a fluttering, sometimes it would feel like something shoving slightly on my side or like when you belly goes funny over a hill! They do sound like movements especially since you only feel them laying down! Once I felt a proper kick there was no mistaking it so I finally didn’t feel crazy anymore 🤣

Yes they are movements. I've just turned 23 weeks too and my movements are quite often and obvious now. If I put the hand on the belly sometimes I can feel it from outside. Think eating sugary stuff or drinking fruit juice can help generate the movements, if you want to be sure.

Babies tend to move when you are staying still. When you are moving around it actually makes the baby go asleep hence you are not feeling it.

Also NHS guideline says that if you have not felt baby movement by 24 weeks, give the midwife a call. So if you are concerned in any way just contact them, to give yourself some reassurance if needed. Good luck!
