Feeling before waters broke?

Currently 38+5 with my 3rd child. I was induce with DC1 and waters broken at hospital. With DC2 I was taken in to hospital to be induced but was 2CMS gone when I got there so they broke my waters and then it went from there.

I've never really experienced going on my own as such so not sure what to expect. Been experiencing lower back pain for the last 2 days and now lying here tonight I've been getting the most strongest sharp shooting pain right down below as if one wrong move from baby and I'm going to "pee" myself (only way I can really describe the sensation).

Was at hospital last week and was advised babys head is really low, they attempted a sweep but only the outside of my cervix was opened and not the inside so back at the end of this week for another try but I'm just looking to hear other people's stories.

Could labour be around the corner? Had anybody experience the sharp shooting pains and can enlighten me to what they could be?

My friend had these pains.. she said they are called lightening crotch. I don't think it means that labour is imminent.

When I started labour naturally I had period like pains which got stronger & more frequent, the pain then moved down my legs in my 1st pregnancy

When mine broke it just happened suddenly! No particular feelings beforehand.

Same, it was out of nowhere.

To add when my waters broke with my first there was no pains before or for a good 12hours after. Just a pop noise in the middle of the night to stand up & realise they broke.

Absolutely nothing at all, then one absolutely massive horrendous shooting pain, then a pop and a gush about 1 minute later!

Nothing, I went for a wee, got back into bed and had a sudden small gush, and then kept getting it every time I moved. In hospital I felt like they were going to go properly, and that feeling was like I had a water balloon between my legs, not that I would know how that felt lol. When I was examined I had a big contraction and they then went properly

Yes mine went out of nowhere with DD1 too. Was sitting on sofa mid-conversation with DH when there was a soft 'pop' and it started gushing. I stood there and cried while he frantically rushed to get a towel Grin

Mine was out of no where to!

All I did was roll over in bed

I was waiting for the birthing pool to be filled. My waters broke and my knees gave way. It was like something out of a soap opera.

But I didn't recall there being anything unusual about my contractions before my waters broke.
