Hi for over a week now I have been over sleeping, I wish I could blame it on the fact that I can’t sleep at night lately and get up multiple times at night to pee, and waking up from aches and pains sometimes waking up for no reason and can’t fall back asleep but I can’t blame it on that because that has all been happening since maybe week 30, and I still would wake up at 7-8am, my natural body clock just wouldn’t allow me to sleep past that time, and I wouldn’t be tired waking up I’d wake up feeling refreshed like I had slept the whole night even tho I had probably been awake the entire night, but for over a week now I have been getting up at 10am sometimes nearly 11am! I still wake up at 7-8 am but I feel so tired that I just can’t keep my eyes open my brain just doesn’t feel awake everything is foggy and I can’t think straight and fall back asleep so today I have set my alarm for 7am and forced myself to stay awake it’s currently 8:20am and because I have forced myself to stay awake i feel like I have been hit my a bus my entire body is tired, is this a normal symptom of pregnancy? Ps I usually go to bed at about midnight

Is there any particular reason that you need to be up at 7am? Personally if I didn't have to be getting up and my body was telling me I needed extra rest I'd just go with it for now.

ohyesohyesoh · 25/04/2023 08:51

Is that a problem ? If you have started mag leave and have no where to be, then listen to your body and rest.

Littlehouseinthebigcity · 25/04/2023 09:06

Echo the other two, if you don't need to
be up then don't worry! But also midnight is quite late, if it's bothering you how late you're sleeping in would it be possible to try to get to bed earlier?

Isthisexpected · 25/04/2023 09:07

You're only getting eight hours. That's hardly oversleeping. Enjoy the rest.

FinallyFoundIt · 25/04/2023 10:17

The tail end of pregnancy is terrible for tiredness, but think about what your body is doing! You're giving a lot of your energy resources to the baby as it puts on weight in these last stages, you needs snacks and sleep. Sleep as much as you possibly can.

Spockrates · 25/04/2023 10:25

@Isthisexpected but when I wake up at 10 or 11 that’s like 10 or 11 hours of sleep and too much sleep increases the risk of still birth according to Google

Never ever heard that @Spockrates you need rest and sleep! Stop googling things, it’s really not helpful. Maybe go to bed earlier if you can and work with your body

Listen to your body Daffodil

I’m 39 weeks and currently going to bed 10pm - 7am (although definitely not sleeping through!) and can then easily nap for two to three hours in the day. I think it’s just our bodies saying we need the rest.

Sleepygrumpyandnothappy · 25/04/2023 16:12

I don’t want to belittle your anxiety but bloody hell! You are not going to kill your baby by having a lie in.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 25/04/2023 16:20

You are very heavily pregnant! It's tiring! Give your body the rest it's asking for!

8 hours sleep is not too much! Nor is 10! I'm a month's time you'll be craving every second of sleep you can get!
