I think I'm close to 5th miscarriage in a row. No children yet. Feeling so sad...

Hi.
Had 4 miscarriages since May, never saw an embryo or heartbeat.
I became pregnant again. I should be 5w + 5d. Had an early scan and only gestational sack was visible, no yolk sac. I also am under the impression the symptoms I had (which were quite mild) are fading. So I m starting to accept the reality of yet another loss.
I am under treatment and really hoped things would be well this time.
I'm so disappointed and I just don't know what to do.
Any advice? I told nobody about this pregnancy, not even my partner. I feel so lonely and hopeless...

Please put your best thoughts into it. I found a place today to repeat the scan. I know it's very early and I should have waited a bit more. It's just 3 days apart. But the chance came and I just took it. I'm a nervous wreck. For example just because I wrote here, makes me anxious I might jinx it. But I just have to know.

I’ve done similar in the past, OP. I’m sending you happy, sticky baby thoughts! 💐

BabyHope1 · 27/04/2023 10:28

@DifficultBloodyWoman thank you so much.

The gestational sac went from 0.7 to 0.99 and there's a yolk of 0.23. She also said there might be some slight cardiac activity. Waiting also to see the hcg.

Thank you all for the positive thoughts!

@BabyHope1 That’s great news! If you are like me, your anxiety will probably continue for quite some time but that really is very promising! 💐

That's amazing news! Things are progressing nicely... you must be so relieved to have received some positive news!
Good luck for your next scan also 🙏🏻 x

Hcg is almost 19000. The internet says I should have seen more at this stage but I will take the positive, which is that it more than doubled.

And one very nice lady shared here she saw very little at 21000. So I will keep hoping. Thanks all. 🤗🤗

@BabyHope1 sorry you’re going through this. For reassurance - I had a scan at 5+4 and they saw gestational sac but no yolk sac. Went back at 7+3 and they saw embryo plus heart beating. Now 20+2 and she was wriggling round loads in the scan yesterday! I also had no symptoms until about 7 weeks (and even then it was just exhaustion). And boob soreness came and went throughout first trimester

WavingThroughYoWindow · 27/04/2023 14:51

Sounds promising OP!🤗 With my youngest, there was no growth at all from 5weeks 5days to 6 weeks 5day. They told me to go home and wait for the 'inevitable'.

Nothing happened. Went back at 7 weeks 6days...my now 6 year old was a perfectly normal for dates embryo with heartbeat. The doctor was obviously shocked, couldn't quite explain it as we saw what we saw and measurements don't lie...think it was put down to my tilted womb in the end!

StarsieZ · 27/04/2023 18:28

Our first scan with our pregnancy now (36 weeks) we went when I was meant to be 7 weeks (due to last period/ovulation date etc) and there was nothing there on external scan, they didn't even see a yolk sac until they went internally and then it was 0.26mm, they said they weren't sure whether it was viable and to come back, so I waited 3 weeks, sure enough there was a baby there at the next scan, maybe it was just too early for them to see anything or your dates were slightly off, or it implanted later than it should have? The HCG going up is a great sign, have everything crossed for you xx

BabyHope1 · 27/04/2023 18:49

Such amazing stories. Very happy that after all the stress, the outcome was a reason for joy!

I'll do my best to concentrate on the positive until it finally happens for me as well.

In all of my pregnancies, HCG levels were far more telling than scans. I’m very hopeful for you, Babyhope!

NatGee · 27/04/2023 21:37

@BabyHope1 yay! so happy for you !!! x

muddlingthrou · 27/04/2023 22:31

Best of luck 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

Patchworksack · 27/04/2023 22:35

Crossing everything for you that development continues. I had a successful pregnancy after 4 miscarriages on progesterone, heparin and prednisolone. She’s nine in a couple of weeks. Getting past the point of your previous losses is just torture. 🤞

Wishing you all the best OP. I had some spotting and an early scan with my second baby, they couldn’t tell if the pregnancy was viable when I was first scanned, at about the same point as your first scan. I was scanned again a week later and there was the flicker of the heartbeat.
I am hoping that this pregnancy works out as well for you.

ManyRiversToCross · 27/04/2023 23:00

Vitamin D. Take lots.
I had 3 miscarriages after my son and the doctor said anecdotally she found lots of women miscarrying have low vit D. She checked and I did. I had a huge loading dose and took it throughout my pregnancy. Of 8 pregnancies it was the only one I didn't have any bleeding at all in. A friend who had really struggled to conceive tried it on my suggestion - had two more children successfully after years of infertility.

What dose of vitamin D did you have to begin with and throughout pregnancy?x

ManyRiversToCross · 28/04/2023 07:20

It was 13 years ago so I can't fully remember...I know I had the standard weekly dose daily for ten days, then to standard weekly dose.

DifficultBloodyWoman · 28/04/2023 07:30

I don’t remember my starting dose of Vitamin D but it was 3000iu daily afterwards and that only just brought me up to the threshold.

Caterina99 · 28/04/2023 09:37

Good luck OP. My fingers are genuinely crossed for you.

I don’t have your awful miscarriage experience, just one ectopic between my 2 children, but I remember the sadness and worry and all consuming obsession with it all.

I had extra scans when I had my DD and they didn’t show what they were supposed to at 5-6 weeks ish. They told me to wait for the next scan and prepare for the fact that it was probably not viable. She is now 5. They were convinced I must’ve had my dates wrong but my period was like clockwork, so who knows?

SchoolTripDrama · 28/04/2023 11:08

Best of luck OP, that all sounds promising!!

This was my scan at 7w+4d. I can’t remember what my HCG levels were but I do recall them multiplying at the same/similar rate to yours so that's awesome!

You can do this!

I think I'm close to 5th miscarriage in a row. No children yet. Feeling so sad...
SchoolTripDrama · 28/04/2023 11:10

Ps I realise my scan makes it look like I had a bump already but I didn't, I'm just fat! 😆🌝

BabyHope1 · 28/04/2023 13:04

Hope I'll be able to see something similar soon. ❤️ It's the farthest I've ever gotten so the treatment might have something to do with it. So it's a hope it's gone work out.
Really helps reading your stories. It makes me continue with confidence no matter the outcome of this pregnancy. Even if, of course , I so much wish for things to go well this time.

Hi. Had hcg tests done again. It went from 19000 to 62000 in 6 days. So not even close to doubling any 2-3 days.

Getting again very anxious!

Any experiences to share? :(

Thank you
