One foot swollen

Hi

wondering if anyone can advise or at least relate / soothe my worries. I’m currently 14+3, all good at 12 week scan.

at 13+6 my right foot became swollen and when I elevated it, it moved into my ankle. Just the one foot. I went to a&e because I panicked it might be a blood clot and GP and midwife were shut. Had x ray, bloods, ultrasound on leg and ankle and everything came back clear.

I’d been on Nitrofuratonin for a water infection and the second doctor I saw said it could be a side effect of that. But I’ve not taken any since Wednesday. So 4 days with no antibiotics and it isn’t getting better.

is this usual for this early in pregnancy to have swelling and is it usual for just one ankle? I know I could see my GP now but is there much point when I’ve already seen a 3 doctors at the hospital and they can’t find what’s wrong?

Yea, need to see the GP as they need to find out what is causing it. And I’d be letting the MW know too when you see them.

Thank you I’ve got my GP appointment tomorrow. I’ve been wearing compression socks which helped a bit but then they’ve swelled up a lot more again.

Just bumping to beg for advice really. Went to the GP today but all he said is that they can’t treat swelling while I’m pregnant as medication is dangerous for the baby. The swelling is really painful now where it wasn’t before and by the end of the day it looks like there’s a tennis ball in my ankle. Just had a shower and the foot swelled up so bad that my toes have gone completely numb :(

im still only 15 weeks and it’s just the one foot and ankle affected.

What was your outcome please? Going through same currently x
