Early scan experiences

Hi ladies,
I had an early scan on Friday due to spotting and few cramps last week. All cramps and spotting long stopped before scan. By LMP they date me as 7 weeks but knowing my actual dates I’d say I’m more 6+2/3. When I tried to explain to her I knew when I ovulated and had a longer cycle and she wouldn’t see anything near 7 weeks she was quite rude and told me well that’s not how they date. Which I’m well aware of 🙄 anyway, during the scan she said she didn’t see what she should be at this point and could only see a sac and yolk sac and to come back next week.

does anyone have any experience of early scans. Is it most likely I’ve had an early miscarriage or is there any hope for next week?

@TTCB2 I chose not to have an early scan done so I can't speak much about what they should and shouldnt be seeing at this early stage. I am sorry you had the experience you did with the sonographer and that the scan wasn't the reassuring milestone you expected. I do hope that when you return next week more will be visible, and that you dont let that bring you down, it is so very early after all.
All I can say is there's no point arguing about how far gone you are with your pregnancy, like the lady said, they date everyone the same way which makes sense for those who didn't plan a pregnancy but it's very different for us who have gotten to know our body. I think it's useful for you to know so you do not let yourself be unduly put under pressure if later on you are told you're overdue as youll know exactly how far into the pregnancy you will be.
Good luck

I don't have a positive experience to share, but I've read of many people who do. For sure there are real possibilities for everything to turn out ok. Did you have your hcg levels checked?

If you know you’re not 7 weeks because of when you ovulated I wouldn’t worry that they can’t see what they expected to at 7 weeks. At 6+2 there isn’t a lot to see.
