Early scan.. miscarriage?

Hi ladies,
I had an early scan today due to spotting and few cramps last week. My LMP they date me as 7 weeks but knowing my actual dates I’d say I’m more 6+3/4. During the scan she said she didn’t see what she should be at this point and could only see a sac and yolk and to come back next week.

does anyone have any experience of early scans. Is it most likely I’ve had an early miscarriage or is there any hope for next week?

Hey, it could possibly be just too early to see anything. Everything is sooo tiny at this stage (like millimeters) and there could be shadowing and tissue hiding things.

I went for a scan with epu with my current baby and they could only see a sack at 6+3. I then had an internal scan and again only a sack visible. I went back 10 days later and everything was fine and my dates were exact to where I thought.

The sonographer I saw for the repeat scan said it's not uncommon and it's why they don't routine scan before 12 weeks as things are easily missed.

Keep hopeful and best of luck to you

@KateC1x1 thank you so much for the reply. It’s good to know there are positive stories out there. It’s just a waiting game now which is honestly the worst bit!
