Scan due date sounds wrong

I have a scan today due to some pain....anyway, yolk sac was seen etc and measuring 5w 2d.....I dont see how this is possible. Last period was 9th march and I tested very strong positive at 9/10dpo (according to app) cd 24, but if going by their dates I got my strong bfp at 7dpo. How's that possible?

I didn't track ovulation but I have marked down when we dtd and dates don't work with that either.

Anyone else had early scan and then dates caught up at later scan?

So they're saying you're 5 days out by my working? 6 weeks since lmp vs 5w2 on the scan. I have read here many times that early scans the measurements are so tiny (mm) that it's not always easy to accurately measure. I have also read that baby can catch up by week 12 or even be ahead. Hope this helps

They are literally measuring mm at the moment so accuracy is really hard. It’s common to be out slightly. That’s why you don’t have a dating scan until around 12 weeks as it’s not as accurate before then. I really wouldn’t worry at this point. Even then babies grow at different rates.
