TW discussion of missed miscarriage

Hey everyone

just after some advice, I had a recent miscarriage and fell pregnant the cycle straight away, I’ve been a nervous wreck.

I got diagnosed with a subchornic heomorrage at 6 weeks with bleeding and horrible pain, that’s since cleared.

i had been horribly nauseous from 5.5 weeks, vomiting, strong cravings and aversions, so tired I could barely stay awake past 7pm. For the last 5 days I had a big reduction in sickness, only sick first thing in the morning but ok after I eat, boobs less sore, able to stomach more food and not as many aversions, no nausea in the evenings. Not tired at all, lots more energy. I panicked so much and convinced myself I was having a MMC, I had a scan today and was right on track at 8 weeks 3 days with a heartbeat of 174 BPM. Going off dates I was 8 weeks tomorrow so all looks positive.

my question is, could the reducing symptoms mean I could potentially have a miscarriage / MMC in the next few days / week and my hormone is dropping or would I have seen something such as slow growth in my scan if my hormone was dropping from a few days ago? So so nervous.

thank you anyone who responds and sorry for the nervous wreck essay

Your pregnancy symptoms should start to improve around 8 weeks because the placenta takes over the job of supporting the baby.

Sounds like your body is doing its job X

No, many times a missed mc doesn’t cause a reduction in symptoms because your body still thinks it’s pregnant. Symptoms or a lack of symptoms aren’t a good indication of a health pregnancy. Some women feel sick even after the heartbeat stops and equally some women never feel unwell or tired at all in the first trimester!
Since you’ve had a scan at 8 weeks and seen a healthy baby that’s a really good sign. It’s very unlikely for something to go wrong at this point.
But just try not to worry about symptoms, you can really overthink it!

I had a MMC and my symptoms didn't go away.
If you've had a scan and seen everything is okay then everything is you've no reason to believe it's not.
Symptoms fluctuate anyway so try not to focus on them.
If your hcg was dropping I doubt you would've seen a heartbeat, I think you're over analysing.
Just try and focus on the positives such as you had a scan and saw the little heart flickering away. The first trimester is tough enough as it is

If you've had a scan at 8 weeks and everything is looking fine then it's very unlikely anything will go wrong now. Usually when a pregnancy is going to end in early miscarriage there are warning signs on the ultrasound. Typically the embryo might be measuring behind, or the heartbeat might be too slow.

Thanks for the replies everyone!

it definitely is a stressful time especially after a loss and also finding out I have a bicornuate uterus which is high risk for miscarriage into the second trimester. I feel like I can’t enjoy this at all.

As above, symptoms do tend to fade for some people around 8/9 weeks as the placenta takes over.

With my daughter my symptoms vanished at 9/10 weeks and I was convinced I'd miscarry, went for a private scan and everything was fine

Mine went at 7.5 weeks which is a lot earlier. I just hope if the reason was a miscarriage it would have showed a lesser date at the scan or no heartbeat etc.

That's only 2-3 days "earlier" and all pregnancies develop at a different rate so your placenta may have just taken over 2-3 days early

Or the symptoms may come back again! This pregnancy my symptoms would disappear for a few days then come back again, I was desperate for them to come back and they're still here at 29 weeks 😬

If you’ve seen the baby and heartbeat measuring on track since losing symptoms I would imagine it’s quite unlikely to be a mmc. My symptoms started to fade from the day the baby stopped growing xx
