Pink bleeding, 6+4days

Sorry for tmi, but i started having pinkish bleeding i refer to it as a salmon colour at 5+4 days, i spoke to the doctor and she told me to retake a test in a week as it was too early for me to go to the epu, and to ring back if i started getting pelvic pain, it has been a week and i am still having a pink show, no red blood at all and never has been and not heavy it has mainly been when i wipe, i did another test today which still shows pregnant but iv read that you can test positive for a few weeks after miscarriage, i rang the doctors back to tell them and let them know i am still having this pink show, i have not had any major cramping or any clots ect, and she did not seem worried and just said because i arnt in pain she wouldnt refer me to the epu, so now im just left confused as to what is happening, if i have miscarried or not, i self referred to a midwife but that said it can take 28 days for contact, i just want to know whats going on and if the baby is still there or not, i dont really have any pregnancy symptoms to go by either, originally i had sore nipples, but now my breasts are only slightly tender if you push on them, has anyone else experienced anything like this? Thankyou

Can you afford a private scan? It may give you your answer one way or another

Sorry to hear this OP! Are you not able to call EPU directly?? I know all trusts are different but I was able to do this where I live and they arranged a scan for me.
I had pink spotting on and off for about 9 weeks - it was such a worrying time and at points I convinced myself of the worst - but it did work out in the end. Wishing you the best!!!

Oh that’s so worrying and frustrating. I’m so sorry you have to go through this anxious waiting period. Is there any way your GP would give you a blood test to see what your HCG levels are doing, just to ease your mind?

If you start cramping, go to A&E - they should give you a blood test there, if you can bare the wait times.

I hope all is well and you get some positive news soon!

Thankyou but mine is referral only unfortunately, i think im abit annoyed as the last doctor would have referred me if i was 7 weeks as apparently that's how far you have to be for the service, thats why she told me to retake a test in a week, but i got a completely different doctor today, and although she sounded reasurring and that it could be normal, i wasnt offered a blood test to check if hcg was dropping or increasing so i dont know what is happening in my body, i dont know if i have miscarried or not, and just been told to call back if i get pain, iv just ordered some tests what show 4+weeks so im thinking if it shows im 4+ weeks then i must still be pregnant as im assuming after a week of pink spotting if it was a miscarriage then my hgc would have now dropped to under 4 week levels, its just all guessing at the moment as no1 seems to be able to do anything or any tests to atleast inform me if i am or arnt anymore x

That’s just SO frustrating - it shouldn’t matter how far along you are, you need reassurance. I know they probably have reasons for such guidelines, but it just seems so cruel. You’ll be in my thoughts.

Xo1 · 19/04/2023 18:45

Thankyou, i know even simple blood tests would give me an answer, i understand miscarriages happen and if thats what it is then id rather know, but then today the doctor didnt even sound like she thought it were, with no explanation as to what the pink discharge could be as its been a week of it now, im hoping these tests iv ordered will give me a better understanding, iv read hcg drops rapidly after miscarriage but these read week 1, 2 ect with lines all the way upto 4+ so surely if im still 4+ then my hcg isnt dropping x

Yeah, that’s the worst part - it could be absolutely fine, it could be what you’re dreading the most. You just want to know either way! It’s really anxiety inducing. I just hope you find out that all is well, and in the meantime, try your best to relax. I know that’s not easy (maybe impossible), but truly treat yourself as gently as you can. ❤️

Thankyou 💕 i havent got high hopes as im more of a person who thinks the worse then anything positive is a benefit, rather then thinking positive to be gutted later, and i havent told family as i dont want to get anyone excited just incase, think its just going to have to be one of those where only time will tell, not fair for them to not try find out even through just a blood test, hopefully midwife contacts me in next couple of weeks and they might book me in for an early scan xx

I understand that completely - it’s hard not to prepare for the worst sometimes. Just know someone in the West Country is thinking of you and hoping it’s all ok.

I had a private scan yesterday, baby is fine and hearts beating and in the correct place, they found something on my right ovary and was worried it were an etopic so had to consult with other people, they then concluded i have a sack of blood in my right ovary which explains the bleeding and slight pains, but they dont think it will effect anything, its still scary as i still have bleeding but atleast i have an explanation, just thought id give you a little update, and i am 9 weeks today xx

EstieGreenwood · 08/05/2023 18:57

Oh that is such great news! I was wondering and hoping. You’ve made my day with this update, I’m sure you’re relieved!

Xo1 · 12/06/2023 10:58

So after that i then started bleeding more, doctors told me to go to a&e, they did a scan and told me i had a daughter cyst which is like cysts within cysts in my ovary, i think this is what caused the bleeding as since iv had nothing thankfully, pregnancy is going good, i am now 14 weeks, i have another private scan booked in for friday to hopefully find out the gender xx
