Should be 7 and a bit weeks pregnant but only looking like 5-6 weeks

Hi All,

Looking for some reassurance or experiences really. Had an early scan due to having previous ectopics and it’s confirmed baby is in the right place but they still aren’t happy. Meant to be 7 and abit weeks pregnant but they are saying only looks between 5-6 weeks there’s no heartbeat and only very small. Told to come back in 10 days as this could be normal or baby isn’t developing properly.
I’m feeling so nervous, scared and sad and just looking for someone to talk to really. Not sure if to face the fact it’s over or hold onto hope.

Hi OP didn’t want to read and run. sorry you’re going through this. Is it possible that you may have ovulated later then you thought?

I don’t really know when I ovulated as we was trying but I didn’t want to test for ovulation etc as wanted no stress so just wanted to see what happened.. it’s the waiting that’s hard

Pretty sure I only implanted 3 days before my period though as I had cramps and thought my period was coming

I had a similar experience, i thought I was 8 weeks but was told 5w5days on scan and was so scared. The baby in right place with heartbeat. My cycles can be up to 40 days but it still seemed off to me considering I had taken multiple early tests that were very positive. however I went back a week later and the baby had grown a week and still had a heartbeat so all is good and I'm currently 7 weeks. The wait between scans was was horrible and I was so anxious but so many other people seem to be in similar situations where late ovulation/implantation occurred. The fact that its not ectopic is good news and I wish you all the best!

@Vics12345 I'm also experiencing this - are you? I'm measuring about 1.5-2 weeks behind but I know when I ovulated due to testing and a positive pregnancy test 10 days later! My next scan is Monday when I should be 10 weeks....but who knows

yes I’m not sure exactly what’s off, I should be 7w2d but measuring about a week behind, fetal pole is visible but no heartbeat.
I had a similar situation with my first pregnancy, at 6 weeks he was measuring 5, everything turned out well, he’s 3 now.
But the doctor said he was 99% sure it isn’t viable this time. CRL is 5.6mm.
Do you know your measurements?

@Vics12345 I swear everyone has different measurements! At 7 weeks (LMP) but I was 6+5 (based on ovulation) and I measured 2.5mm with no HB (given a GA of 5+2). I figured no hope.

A week later at 8 weeks (LMP) but i was 7+5 (based on ovulation) and I measured 3.7mm with a HB (given a GA of around 6 weeks). Not sure I have much hope still to be honest.

Hi @Vics12345 for me it sadly ended in a miscarriage, but I have heard many stories where the outcome was positive, I know they say that’s why they don’t usually do scans before 12 weeks cause it can create worry when everything is actually ok. I hope it all turns out well for you and wish you the best I’m now 36 weeks pregnant so there’s always hope and happy endings xxx
