Are the Clearblue weeks indicators accurate or am i out?

Stay with me... I didn't track ovulation and am irregular.

2 weeks ago today, 4th April, I tested positive 2-3 weeks clear blue digi.

Yesterday, 13 days later, yolk sac seen on TV scan - no pole or heart beat.

Dr said maybe I'm not 6 weeks yet and a few days out and so booked me for another scan two weeks later. (Forever!)

If clearblue is right i should be at LEAST 6 weeks.

Very sad and anxious. Is it possible to not see a fetal pole at 6 weeks? Can clearblue be out by a few days?

@PhyllisVance23 sorry you're having to wait for another appointment!

Did you have quite regular periods? If so you may be able to work out your dates better by that.

PhyllisVance23 · 18/04/2023 21:44

I'm very irregular so I'm just going by clearblue telling me I'm 2-3 two weeks ago (which would make me 6-7 now).

They're not a medical tool OP. They're an expensive con, a way to squeeze more money out of an anxious mum to be. I wish they would ban the damned things.

Love your username- fellow office lover here.

I wouldn't trust CB either they're really unreliable. Know 2 weeks seems like forever to wait so I hope it goes fast x

I'd go for a private scan in a few days, a fetal pole and heartbeat will show up soon if all is well....

PhyllisVance23 · 18/04/2023 22:01

£250 for a private scan where I live. Really can't afford that. Would having a HCG blood test two days apart work at this stage? Prob wouldn't get the results back much sooner anyway I guess. Not knowing is so hard.

If you were 2-3 2 weeks ago won't that make you 4-5 now?

PickledScrump · 18/04/2023 22:20

those tests are infamously unreliable so I wouldn’t put too much in them. Can you shop around for a private scan? Many are only around £60.

@Padstow58 the clearblue are from conception so you add 2 weeks on for pregnancy dates. So 2-3 on a clearblue is 4-5 week’s pregnant.

They are a total con, and exist only to give women anxiety and put cash in the pockets of private early scan places which then also give you anxiety.

If you have a positive test then you are pregnant and no amount of worry will change the outcome, just got to sit tight and wait for the 12 week scan.

Talking from experience here! First pregnancy I went for a early scan at '7 weeks' and there was no heart beat. At my 12 week scan I measured only 10 weeks, had to go back in 2 weeks time and at that appointment I measure a week ahead and got given the exact due date I had worked out for myself in the very beginning. Baby was born on my due date!

None of it is an exact science, but you've got to trust your body and the magic!

PhyllisVance23 · 19/04/2023 09:57

@PickledScrump - live in Jersey. Everything is so expensive, double London!

@eggboxontop thank you! I wish I never had that stupid scan. I was high risk last preg so I'm being monitored again.
Good to hear a similar story with a happy outcome.

CB weeks can be awful. I took one when I knew my hcg and it wasn't accurate at all. Try not to read too much into the weeks tests I found distracting myself with other tasks makes the time between scans a bit more bearable which I know is easier said than done. Good luck OP
