Ectopic vs chemical pregnancy

so I had an ectopic last year my symptoms were spotting from 5 weeks, right side pain and diagnosed at 6 weeks by a ultrasound

I recently fell pregnant again and at 5 weeks (1 week past missed period) had a heavy bleed and period pain cramps but not to painful so took myself to an and e late on the night. Blood results showed hcg at 17 but they couldn’t scan me as it was night time and they were off, they put it down to chemical pregnancy or miscarriage

as this wasn’t diagnosed by a ultrasound my mind is in overdrive as to weather it could of been ectopic again and was wondering if anyone had either experienced the same situation or had a chemical pregnancy that can relate to the same symptoms so that I can piece together what happened and if it wasn’t ectopic again

Hi I experienced a chemical pregnancy ( not an ectopic before but hopefully some of my experience can help). Just like you I started bleeding exactly a week after my missed period should have started. My tests never got darker which at the time in my naivety of first pregnancy I didn’t realise could be a sign of a chemical pregnancy.

Are you worried it might be ectopic and therefore could still possibly be inside? After the bleeding stopped from my loss I tested negative, so it might be worth doing a test (if you hadn’t already)? X

Thankyou so much for ur reply, I swore to myself I wouldn’t test loads because I didn’t want to try and stress after last time but I did end up taking one 3 days before the bleeding and it wasn’t very dark, I didn’t feel reassured by it anyway! And yeah I’m just worried that if it could of possibly been ectopic again that my tubes are damaged and that’s caused it again, I just feel so unlucky for this to have happened after my ectopic 😞

can I ask if u had any pain, how long the bleeding lasted if u don’t mind answering ❤️

When did this happen - last night?
Why couldn't they scan you today?
I would demand a scan asap, the fact you have already had an Ectopic and your experiencing bleeding in early pregnancy they should be making it their priority to get you an early scan straight away.
Sorry your going through this and the unknown, I had an ectopic last year and it was horrific.
Please demand a scan and I hope it all goes ok for you.

@Bc102 I just had pain the first day of bleeding, and it was around 6-7 days of bleeding which is longer than my regular period. I hope you get the answers xx
