8 weeks empty gestational sac?

Hi
i went for an early scan today to put my mind at rest as anxious, when she scanned me she said she can see the gestational sac but it is empty. She asked if my dating was out but my periods are regular.
obviously I know this is more than likely to be a miscarriage, but has anyone had any experience of this please?
I’ve had no bleeding or cramping so far.

@HLB7 hi I had this last year and mine was a MC. Mine never started naturally despite waiting around 4 more weeks for it to happen and I had surgery in the end. I did a lot of googling at the time and there were a couple of positive stories of the baby miraculously appearing but most were a MC I'm sorry to say x

Thank you for replying ❤️ I know In my heart of hearts it is a mc, but after waiting for 4 years was really hoping for a different outcome, I am being rescanned on Thursday at the EAPU , and then they will take it from there I think 😢 xxx

Sorry, it’s such a painful thing to happen, especially when you’ve been waiting so long. It happened to me at 7 and a half weeks after an ivf cycle. It was a miscarriage too I’m afraid. I hope you get a resolution soon and wish you loads of luck with trying again in the future if that’s what you decide. Not sure if it helps, but I’m now expecting a third, so there is life after miscarriage even when it feels very hopeless.
