Scar on uterus, should I worry??

I had a massive ovarian cyst removed just over a year ago, and had the right ovary and tube removed.

I have been wondering if this will have left a weak spot in my uterus? I am getting the odd twinge on this side as I am growing, I'm now 9 weeks pregnant.

Does anyone else have any experience of this, just to put my mind at rest!

i had the same - a 10cm x 10cm cyst removed last feb (was 9+3 pregnant with ds) and i had the dermoid cyst, ovary and tube removed. i have cysts on my right ovary but am now pregnant again (approx 11weks) and i get odd pains over my old scar site. Consultant says this is just as the scar is still quite fresh and my insides are slowly being rearranged. HTH

I had exactly the same op (but left ovary and tube!)about 18 months before i became pregnant and it didn't cause any problems. It's quite common to get niggles and twinges early on as your uterus starts to grow but as far as I'm aware, as the ovary/cyst/tube are outside of your uterus, the op shouldn't cause you any probs for your pregnancy.

Thanks guys, you know what its like, every niggle or twinge must be something awful!

The thing is, this is my 3rd baby, so I should relax really!!

i'm the same and if it wasnt for dh constantly reassuring me i would have been up at epu for scans daily. i have no idea what a normal pregnancy should feel like as i had so many probs with ds. consultant and m/w have both said that no bleeding and odd pains are normal. having said that am looking forward to scan on 29th so i can relax properly.
